Backend Lead java engineer

The Product & Technology, China team is looking for a talented, creative, and passionate lead Java back end engineers to create a new product. The role expects a high standard of engineering excellence and a deep understanding of building and maintaining scalable applications and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop highly scalable and performant applications for mission-critical systems.
  • Mentor and coach engineers on technology and engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Continuously think about innovation and promote a mindset of making the system and solutions constantly better.
  • Drive to get results and not let anything get in your way.
  • Lead projects with other engineers, architects, managers, product management, operations teams to design and develop innovative solutions that meet business requirements.

  • Lead engineering efforts, plan implementations, and rollout system changes.
  • Prototype ideas quickly using cutting edge technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 8 + years’ experience in Java backend development.
  • Demonstrable programming abilities in Java with Spring framework, Spring boot.
  • Solid understanding of web services and related standards like REST/JSON and gRPC
  • Expert in Object-Oriented programming and concepts.
  • Solid understanding of basic algorithms, design patterns.
  • Unix based development environment.
  • Experience to interact with engineering teams from multiple geo-locations
  • Experience in both development and QA activities.
  • Experts in both relational and non-relational DB, like Oracle and CouchDB
  • Experience in Junit.
  • Experience in Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Financial or Payment industry experience is preferred.
  • Proven track record in delivering highly available, scalable systems on time.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.
  • Curiosity about how things work and the behavior of finding the answers. Flexible and adapting tothe changing circumstances, tenacious.
