PayPal’s seller risk management organization is looking for a Seller Risk Next Gen solutions (Sr. Analyst) to formulate and drive how PayPal manages risk on its portfolio of sellers.
The candidate would be a part PayPal Risk team located in San Jose, CA.

This individual will have an opportunity to formulate Seller Risk Strategy and create product-policy for next Gen seller risk solutions for PayPal. Seller risk management is a critical foundation for maintaining the health of PayPal’s payments ecosystem ensuring great experience for its users and long term financial success of PayPal.
As Seller Risk Next Gen solutions lead, you will drive and formulate analytics based strategy and policies across a seller’s lifecycle from on-boarding, activation, on-going monitoring and privilege management of sellers with focus on Marketplaces and Partners. This role will allow you to get in-depth and broad understanding of PayPal’s overall business model.

You will utilize data and analytics to identify, build, and promote new strategies to optimize PayPal’s seller risk management and play a driver role in formulating the Next generation of seller risk solutions. You will partner with product and platform teams to define seller experience and product features; Support overall risk goals through detailed data mining and analysis that results in policies, test-and-learn pilot programs and broad strategies to deliver efficiency, loss reduction and better customer experience; collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to work in a team environment and provide consultative support.

  • Partner with cross functional teams of operational analysts, Operations, and product development resources to identify and promote new solutions and products that will improve the overall effectiveness of merchant risk monitoring and risk programs
  • Focus on seller risk management from critical Marketplaces and Partners channel for Paypal
  • Develop analytics based strategy and frameworks for seller risk management – balancing financial impact and user experience
  • Formulate, construct, conduct and analyze controlled experiments and derive valid conclusions from various test and learn pilots pertaining to seller risk that can be applied and scaled to risk operations
  • Perform in-depth data analysis on risk profiles of existing merchant accounts to identify new actionable trends and solutions
