A typical day for the Large Merchants Sales Intern will include:
The Large Merchant Sales Intern is accountable for supporting the Large Merchants Sales teams in strategic and tactical decision-making, delivering actionable customer insights and development of business strategies & plans.

The Large Merchant Direct Sales Intern will help identify new opportunities to acquire new merchants to sell in and integrate PayPal’s various products on their web, bricks and mortar and mobile channels. This may be through finding new verticals to explore, conducting coverage audits, preparing reports, pulling and delivering sales reports and pipelines, to help prepare business plans, market analysis, sales presentations (both internal and external facing) and being able to juggle these tasks and other priorities at the same time.

The team works cross-functionally with other PayPal teams in the UK and internationally to enable the sales teams to hit our new revenue targets through new merchant’s acceptance and integration of Paypal.

What does Success Look Like?

  • Define and implement Lead management process - Currently leads come in from varied sources. The successful candidate will need to track these sources, making sure all entry points are being identified and are effective.
  • Perform initial qualitative and quantitative analysis of incoming leads
  • Work with marketing to provide contacts that require regular emails to progress prospects to close
  • Use web based research to identify contacts in prospects for Sales team to pursue
  • Research sectors or large company structures to help the Sales team understand opportunity
  • Perform audits of industries, sectors or initiatives as appropriate
  • Deliver and maintain weekly reports based on key metrics.
  • Collate and format Sales team data requests
  • Manage internal calendar with all events, stakeholder meetings, planning and development related activities captures/communicated/monitored. Maintain list of possible future events.
  • Ensure the modular proposal template is current and create proposals promptly for the Sales team based on simple request form with specific customer requirements sent by the Sales team.
  • Gather feedback on and requirements for Marketing produced collateral or tradeshows, providing feedback regularly.

About You:

  • Knowledge of payments processing and knowledge of retail and e-commerce is preferable.
  • Ability to effectively manage a pipeline and be an organised administrator working within a defined sales process is also preferable.

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, with a good attention to detail.
  • Good team player with collaborative approach and ability to forge constructive relationships quickly whilst being able to work alone and deal with ambiguity.

You Must Also Have:

  • Have a degree in a business / commercial related subject with expected grade at least a 2:1
  • Be available for a 12 months internship starting June – July 2018
