Junior Legal Counsel – Italy

A typical day for the Junior Legal Counsel will include:

  • The Junior Legal Counsel will be a part of International Legal Team, reporting to the Head of Legal of Italy,
  • This varied and challenging role will include analysing, drafting and negotiating commercial and marketing agreements,
  • Working with product, sales, relationship management and marketing teams to support closing complex contracts,

What does Success Look Like?  

  • You have analysed, drafted and negotiated commercial agreements (merchant agreements, partnership agreements, etc.)
  • You have analysed, drafted and negotiated marketing agreements (agency agreements, co-marketing agreements, sponsorship agreements, contests etc.)
  • You have provided legal research and assistance regarding financial regulatory aspects (especially payment services and electronic money), data protection and privacy law, e-commerce law, consumer protection law, competition law and intellectual property law.
  • You have supported improvements to processes and systems to streamline efficiency.

About You :

  • You are a self-starter with a strong law background; You have a Master's degree from a top-tier university, specialising in business law, financial services regulation, e-commerce law or international law,
  • You ideally have at least 3 years’ experience with progression within Legal roles in E-Commerce, payments environment, primary legal departments or law firms,
  • You have fluency in Italian and English at professional level, excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • You can demonstrate the ability to interpret data and offer insight and recommendations,
  • You have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, ability to build relationships internally and externally, interfacing at all levels.
  • You possess effective time-management and prioritization skills to manage workload,
  • You have the ability to thrive in an environment of continuous change and complexity
  • You have a keen interest in payments, fin-tech sector.
  • You show familiarity with software, open source licensing, IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications or cloud computing services
