Graph & Linking Analytical Infra team is looking for a Data Scientist to join the team and take an important role in the team’s current domains – Building PayPal’s first Graph DB and developing the linking domain.

As a Data Scientists in PayPal’s Global Data Science organization, you will have an impact on PayPal’s Merchant and Consumer products all around the world. Our data scientists work to better understand our end-users, identify opportunities and improve our products by creating personal and smart experiences. Making use of PayPal’s endless amount of data, you will leverage your data and machine learning skills, for research and delivery of end-to-end Data Science solutions.

  • Data mining and extracting information in PayPal’s Big Data environment
  • Work independently and proficiently on multiple assignments simultaneously with speed and quality
  • Broaden the analytic playing field by using a wide range of research tools and methods, including applying scientific knowledge where relevant
  • Team player - Cooperating with our talented development team in a high paced tech environment and maintaining a customer oriented approach
  • Experience in Data Mining or Statistics
  • Strong analytical skills and business orientation
  • The role encompasses acquisition and application of vast knowledge areas over a short period of time and requires a strong sense of personal responsibility

About You

  • Degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, etc.)
  • Experience working with data
  • Code writing capability in any programming language (Python, R, Java, Scala, etc.) and familiarity with relevant ML packages.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Hadoop experience (MapReduce, PIG, Hive, Spark) – an advantage
  • Graph DB experience – an advantage
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Team worker, responsible, delivery-oriented
