As Strategic Marketing Intern for CEMEA (Central Europe & Middle East Africa), you will help developing and executing effective consumer marketing strategies for PayPal’s key financial products in CEMEA particularly for “Funds-in-Funds-out” projects. The core function would entail developing excellent comprehension as well as be responsible for driving consumer adoption of these products.

Financial Product Marketing team sits within the CEMEA Strategic marketing team. This role works closely

with Brand, Product, Business Units of the region, PR, Analytics, and CEMEA local marketing managers to launch and sustain new products, accelerate growth of new consumers, improve consumer comprehension and demand for PayPal, as well as rejuvenate the brand in CEMEA.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Help developing a framework for PayPal’s financial products in the region for owned channels.
  • This framework should include targeting segments, key messages, communication strategy within user lifecycle and expected KPI’s.
  • Develop comprehension of FIFO products in the region, eg Choice, Direct Debit, Instant Top up as a result of the execution of above framework. Communication on FIFO products should contribute to strengthen PayPal’s core value proposition and not confuse customers as if new product offerings.
  • Collaborate with other internal partners like Brand and Lifecycle teams.
  • Liaise with creative agencies to propose best-in-class campaigns to drive key metrics.
  • Own relevant & impactful communications through all owned channels to execute those marketing campaigns.
  • Raise constructive challenges, bring in new ideas & fresh thinking.
  • Collaborate with numerous PayPal departments eg brand and lifecycle to deliver best-in-class communication aligned to compliance and legal requirements.
  • Ensure analysis on campaigns performance & ROI and use findings in the development of future activity based on results.

Job requirements:

  • Strong marketing background (School major or previous internship / work experience).
  • Passion for digital marketing techniques and interest in customer behavior.
  • Outstanding collaboration, project & stakeholder management skills in complex matrix organizations. Can deal with high degree of ambiguity.
  • Extremely organized and strong attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in managing multi country / multi language cross-functional campaigns is a plus.
  • Team spirit, entrepreneurship, eagerness to take responsibility, sense of humor, thrives in a fast-moving, rapidly changing environment.
  • Concrete and action-oriented personality.
  • Fluent in English. Fluency in other European languages is an advantage.
  • Good recommendations.
