PayPal’s industrial leading Risk management heavily relies on data-driven analytics, modeling, decisioning and operations. The Risk Data Services team is responsible for enabling data related and dependent activities of Risk’s data science teams. These activities take place across multiple big data platforms and technologies.

What does Success Look Like?  

We are seeking a motivated team player for an intern (student) data engineer to join our team.

Join us and you will get to:

  • Work with large scale data systems.
  • Work side by side with analysts and data scientists to deliver world-class data science solutions from research phase all the way to production.
  • Develop and own analytical solutions used for research, development and deployment of analytical content.
  • Gain expertise and deep understanding in data engineering and  Big Data technologies

About You

  • Studying for B.Sc. in computer sciences, Mathematics, Physics or similar
  • Availability of 50% or more.
  • Basic knowledge in SQL and relational databases..
  • Strong Analytical skills, ability to analyze requirements.
  • Innovative, entrepreneurial, Team player, Ability to multi-task.
  • Very good English (written and verbal)

Advantages:

  • Experience with SQL development
  • Experience working with relational databases/Bi
  • Experience with dynamic programming languages (Python)
  • Experience in Shell/Perl as working in Unix/Linux environments
