Job Description Summary: The Professional Services team is responsible for supporting the integration of PayPal’s payment, identity and platform capabilities into the products and systems of major global strategic partners and merchants as well as high potential disruptive start-ups. Working in conjunction with the Business Unit Sales team, you will use your business acumen to support the pre-sales. You will also go through negotiations and solution brainstorming. Your technical acumen will generate technical design and implementation of a variety of high volume consumer and merchant solutions including web and mobile applications, browsers, platforms, operating systems and point of sale devices.

Guide merchants integrating PayPal products. Be a consultant for them, validate and certificate the quality of integrations.

• Create innovative, customer driven Solution and detailed Solution Designs utilizing PayPal’s various API products.
• Identify any product/functionality gaps required to deliver a solution and collaborate with internal product and technology teams to define the necessary enhancements to support delivery
• Become a recognized technical expert with the internal product set and act as a guide for regional Sales team in identifying potential solutions for new merchant relationships.
• Work closely with internal teams including compliance, privacy, risk, information security, support and operations to ensure all aspects of a merchant launch are managed
• Ensures partners implement optimal integration strategies, techniques and user experience best practices

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent. 

4+ years of experience with Internet and mobile technologies including Web Services, SOAP, NVP, Rest, HTML/HTTP, iOS, Android and leading web and mobile application frameworks.

4+ years of experience with three or more major programming languages (C++, Objective-C, C#, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, .NET, PHP or Python).

Experience with creating, implementing and drawing processes (BPMN), leading a technical team with complex operation.

Experience with metrics and reports in a creative and proactive way. Metrics driven person.

Ability to successfully interact and dynamically adapt communication styles with all levels of client organizations (C-level executives, middle management, finance and operations, software engineers etc.)

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal in English and Brazilian Portuguese. 

25% domestic and international travel, with a current passport and no history of declined visas, or entry refusal to any country.

Preferred Experience

  • Degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience with Payments (Credit Card, Banking, Online, Offline), especially with ecommerce systems, payments gateways and payment processors is highly valued.
  • Experience in Integration Engineering or Professional Services, preferably with large to enterprise-level companies engaged in ecommerce.
  • Experience with OEM devices or mobile systems.
  • Experience with system discovery process, requirements gathering, systems architecture or development.
  • Ability to translate requirements into detailed design and solution documents.
  • Ability to analyze strategic objectives and define specific tactical goals required to achieve them.
  • Previous Technical Product Management experience.
