Responsible for overall tax operations for PayPal China

Job Description

o Hire, supervise, and develop a team of 2 finance operation specialists

o Monitor the quality of finance operation work and provide guidance to team

o Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information for various tax reporting and filings

o Facilitate the collection and communication of financial data required to fulfill reporting obligations including tax returns and information returns

o Manage implementation of systems and process to ensure effective compliance with reporting obligations

o Manage the STI implementation in conjunction with the STI Team and Controllership; led VAT invoicing and reporting/filing

o Oversee accounting entries reflecting transfer pricing adjustments

o Oversee collection and communication of financial data to support annual transfer pricing review/documentation

o Implement controls and process to mitigate risks

o Serve as main point of contact for government inquiries and audits for all Chinese entities, coordinating with appropriate subject matter expert in Tax

o Maintain seamless communication with regional and global functional leaders and ensure global policies/processes are properly implemented

o Act as tax focal to support business functions on various projects/initiatives that require tax engagement

Job Qualifications

o 15 to 20 years of experience

o Corporate tax department experience with a large multinational company strongly preferred

o Good working knowledge of taxes in China, and familiar with direct and indirect tax regimes both strategically and operationally, ideally as it relates to the digital economy

o A University degree, ideally in Accounting, Law or Tax

o Familiar with group and local accounting needs

o Self-motivated with strong project management skills

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with team members

o Critical thinker, with the ability to work across regions and functions in a fast-paced environment

o Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex tax issues to non-tax audiences

o Proficiency with MS Office, in particular Power Point and Excel

o Be well organized and detail oriented with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced and dynamic small-team environment, be HANDS ON

o Passion about the Internet, ecommerce, and the PayPal brand, offering, and purpose
