The newly created role of Head of Sales Engineering & Solutions will be responsible
for leading a team of Sales Engineers and a Solutions Architect who partner with our
strategic partners and merchants to enable best in class solutions to accept
payments online, in-store and in-app.

The newly created role of Head of Sales Engineering & Solutions will be responsible
for leading a team of Sales Engineers and a Solutions Architect who partner with our
strategic partners and merchants to enable best in class solutions to accept
payments online, in-store and in-app.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • People management – responsible for the day to day management of the pre-sales, integration engineering & solutions architects, including supporting their career development.
  • Integration Quality – implement best in class measures and continually seek opportunities to drive improvement in process and resource efficiency.
  • KPI measurement - measure the success of the team, from initial engagement through to delivery. This includes ensuring that the team are effectively tracking the delivery across the engagement cycle and providing monthly reporting metrics to management.
  • Drive strategic initiatives – partner across the team and with management to deliver on strategic initiatives to drive productivity and improvements within the Sales Engineering & Solutions function.
  • Commercial engagements – maintain hands on responsibility for key strategic engagements across the engagement lifecycle. Overall accountability for the delivery of the team’s delivery of technical solutions to merchants and partners.
  • Voice of the merchant – act as the voice of the merchant / partner and provide feedback to the product and PMM teams to drive continuous improvement of the PayPal product set to meet the needs our merchants and partners.
  • Internal collaboration – collaborate with leaders across functional areas including BT, risk, compliance, product privacy and information security to enable seamless product and onboarding experiences for our merchants and partners. Partner with the professional services teams across APAC and across other Sales Engineering functions globally to share best practice and drive continuous improvements within the team.
  • Stakeholder management – ability to manage C level stakeholders externally and senior level stakeholders internally. Be able to take stakeholders on a change management journey and get buy-in.
  • Technical knowledge base – actively seek opportunities to upskill the team in new technologies and where appropriate, share this knowledge across the broader PayPal team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience leading senior technology professionals in areas of web and development & solutions architecture.
  • Proven ability to build high performance teams and drive outcomes via people
  • Strong web and app development background – including a key understanding of web technologies including Web Services, SOAP, NVP, HTML / HTTP, IOS, Android and mobile application frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive level communication
