The Head of Product Management, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) will lead a portfolio of products-capabilities that are shared services consumed by the various technical communities within PayPal e.g., Payments, Risk, Credit, Consumer, Merchant, etc. This portfolio of products and services encompasses critical services such as: Public and Private Cloud Infrastructure, Monitoring, Network, Analytics and Communications. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic product leader to design, shape and drive product solutions in this space. In doing so, the leader will be asked to take a holistic view of this portfolio of products; ensure internal demand is well understood, roadmaps are influenced accordingly and that these products are balanced against capabilities available in the market, inclusive of Cloud offerings. The ideal candidate will have strong technical background in building and managing multi-tenant software products for an internet-based company. Your goal will be enhancing the capabilities of this portfolio to enable new business capabilities and growth. Site availability and resource utilization will be two other areas of focus. Equally important is proven general management skills. This person will be responsible for recruiting, retaining, and scaling a high-performing team. This will require someone with exceptional leadership skills and an understanding of how to manage a very large and diverse group of highly talented individuals.

• Lead a talented team of technical product managers responsible for Infrastructure, Platforms, PaaS and Developer experience
• Ability to understand present and future market trends, define product direction and translate this into clear value proposition
• Oversee product planning, including identifying new opportunities as well as maintaining a rolling roadmap of products
• Create capabilities and services that our application teams leverage to have direct impact on our customer experience and key business metrics
• Build relationships and partnerships up, down and across different PayPal BUs
• Ensure your team delivers high quality PRDs/User stores that capture an impactful scope of work that can be delivered on time, and with quality
• Evangelize and pitch solutions internally and externally in informal and formal settings
• As needed, hire top talent at various levels, from recent college grads to experienced technical PMs
• Experience with technologies and platforms required to deliver infrastructure capabilities, including public cloud experience with GCP (Google Compute Platform), MSFT Azure or AWS (Amazon Web Services)
• Strong people manager with ability to challenge and grow a healthy senior product management team working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Able to manage multiple product lines simultaneously throughout the software development lifecycle, leveraging waterfall and agile methodologies
• Clear, crisp communicator, both in writing and verbally
• Creative, entrepreneurial individuals with a bias to action and proven ability to lead team to “get stuff done”
• Strategic thinker able to go deep into technology and relate technical enhancements to customer use cases
• Proven ability in being the primary business and technical product interface and central point of coordination in the definition and execution of products through their lifecycle
• Consistent history of making data-driven decisions, including gathering data where none exists

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent preferred

• Advanced technical degree, MBA or equivalent a strong plus

• Experience in a US multinational environment, working with and managing geo-distributed teams

• 5+ experience leading PM teams
