PayPal is looking for an innovative, strategic-thinking and highly motivated candidate to develop PayPal’s Large Merchant Sales and Relationship Management team and grow adoption in IBNL market and beyond

Head of Merchant Sales & Relationship Management – Ireland & Benelux (IBNL), based in Amsterdam

Role Description:

This is a fantastic opportunity to operate within a fast paced and challenging team environment where the ability to collaborate and interface cross-functionally with multiple business teams is essential.

The Head of MS reports into the General Manager of IBNL and will be responsible for strategy definition and execution in order to reach the two following objectives:

Develop PayPal’s large merchants business ubiquity and revenue through:

  • New and existing merchant verticals such as: travel, consumer goods, groceries, gambling, and digital goods
  • Disciplined pipeline and performance management
  • Supporting and closing complex deals
  • Developing relationship management and upsell strategies
  • Managing global merchants

Increase PayPal market share and value proposition in the market for targeted merchants:

  • Analyze the market and develop new verticals
  • Prepare and execute on commercial initiatives such as product launches and marketing campaigns
  • Drive merchant innovation through rollout of new PayPal solutions

Job Requirements:   

  • Prior team leadership experience required – Proven ability to develop high-performing teams, including setting clear goals & deliverables
  • Strong negotiating & deal modelling skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Complex project management and/or project management experience
  • Ability to influence & lead cross-functionally
  • Ability to understand customer’s long term needs and business issues for PayPal, merchants and consumers
  • Ability to manage stressful situations whilst juggling multiple challenges: creative problem solver
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Passionate about the internet and the e-commerce sector; hi-tech industry or Payments industry experience is a plus.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English. Additional languages beneficial
