The Head of Product & Technology, China, is at the center of PayPal’s journey into payment processing in China. You will be responsible for working with the product, design, engineering and global business teams to understand the needs of our users, how the industry is growing and how PayPal plays a part. Setting up an in-country ability to process transitions, understanding local requirements, and cross-border trade experience. You will be in charge of building a team to enable this. Hiring and executing this vision will be a critical part of this role.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Create a long term, global vision for PayPal’s portfolio in China that inspires buyers and merchants alike
  • Provide resource and technology recommendations based upon industry knowledge, current technology and competitive landscape
  • Build and lead a diverse team of product managers and engineers
  • Deeply understand industry related advancements with mobile wallets, tokenization, payment processing and third-party payment models.  Demonstrate how you’ve used this to create opportunities to partner and build better experiences.
  • Expand our presence in China, enabling local processing.
  • Be an advocate for customer-first, outside-in thinking

Qualifications

  • 12+ years experience in engineering
  • 8+ years experience in payments.
  • Deep understanding of the Financial services industry with regard to technology and the regulatory environment
  • Familiarity with payments technology preferred
  • Minimum MBA or equivalent
  • Confident communicator able to drive results with VP-level contacts internally and externally
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Have a proven track record of building platforms which have been successful at enabling third party developers
  • Comfortable navigating large and complex organizations to influence and obtain stakeholder buy in
  • Proven ability to uncover and deliver revenue through partnerships
  • Expert negotiator in enterprise or technical sales
