Work closely with the VP of Eserv Platforms and the leadership team, leading all aspects of the day to day strategy and operations, inclusive of strategy formulation, financial governance, investment decisioning, program management, operating rhythms, stakeholder engagement and employee engagement. Act as a trusted adviser to the BU leader providing counsel and serving as a sounding board to influence, inform and as necessary challenge decisions; leveraging both inside and outside perspectives. The Head of Business Strategy promotes solid execution and fact-based decision-making across the organization; acting as the ‘connective tissue’ that links all aspects of the organization seamlessly. The Head of Business Strategy will ensure our operating model, OKR’s, investment plan and portfolio are designed and implemented to deliver against the defined strategy. Ability to work through multiple operational challenges simultaneously & be able allocate issues to appropriate functional leaders for readout/resolution on behalf of the BU leader. Have general experience within the related field (e.g. product /analytics or engineering). Working with senior team subject matter experts, overseeing the management of critical & significant external global third- party partners including contracts & senior relationships to ensure we benefit from the best fiscal arrangements for those key partners/vendors. Comfortable with technology and able to engage with technologists across the broader organization to contribute to strategic discussions. Demonstrate superior creativity, thought leadership, across all levels as well as first rate communication skills. Have a natural ability to build an effective team through others & exude a confident, engaging & professional persona to all PayPal team members & leadership Key responsibilities include: • Trusted advisor to the Eserv BU leader: Serve as on-the-ground execution for a wide variety of cross-functional projects for both the leader and leadership team. Ability to navigate internal networks and build internal consensus is a must. • Strategic Thinking and Research: Bring outside-in thinking to the organization, highlighting industry trends that should be considered and evaluated. Engage with SME’s within the BU on any topics. Act as a disruptor- questioning the status-quo. Drive all aspects of the development of the organization’s strategy. • Operating Rhythms: Create and manage operating routines that facilitate decision-making, autonomy, leadership alignment, and team engagement, inclusive of staff meetings, operational reviews, leadership off sites, All Hands, etc. Set the agenda, facilitate discussion and communicate outcomes. • Program & Portfolio Management: Align & engage with CE&T PMO leadership to provide oversight of key enterprise programs; drive compliance with enterprise best practices and standards. Aggregate programs as a portfolio, ensuring the portfolio delivers against desired business outcomes. • Vendor/Partner Management: Utilize existing team strong expertise in dealing with top tier & critical relationships with external third- party data & platform partners. Be the Domain senior POC, while enabling team leads to run their businesses effectively with guidance /air cover as required. • Financial Governance & Investment Decisioning: Ensure strong financial hygiene, that all targets are met or exceeded, that investments, contracts and outgoing costs are properly decisioned and in-support of the required business outcomes. • Executional accelerator for leadership: Develop policies and/or processes necessary to implement decisions made by the leadership team. Help to manage the Eserv Leaders’ direct staff and facilitate accountability for key priorities. Assist with executive talent matters as needed. • Communications for the Eserv leader: Create/shape presentations for Executive Leadership and public appearances. • People Operations & Organizational Health: Proactively support the organization, managing people headcount , site strategies & domain Leaders re team alignment /organization. Ensure the organization continues to provide talent and individual support for team members. • Technology Risk Management: Ensure the organization is delivering required output relating to Compliance / Risk Management & assessment

The ideal candidate has proven experience working closely with executives, in a fast-paced environment; applying strong consultative skills, including business acumen, customer empathy, and the ability to influence and partner. This person thrives in a dynamic, global, fluid, matrix environment and is results-focused. Is comfortable leading from both the front and the rear, as situations dictate. History in communications, commercial acumen, business & strategy development preferred. Eserv Platforms reach across the company is inclusive of Customer Operations, Sales and Marketing plus Go to market - background in some these areas would be helpful.
