Work closely with the VP of ETX & Data Centers and the leadership team, leading all aspects of the day to day strategy and operations, inclusive of strategy formulation, financial governance, investment decisioning, program management, operating rhythms, stakeholder engagement and employee engagement. Act as a trusted adviser to the VP of ETX & Data Centers providing counsel and serving as a sounding board to influence, inform and as necessary challenge decisions; leveraging both inside and outside perspectives. The Head of Business Operations will be tasked with establishing a cross-technology M&A team to ensure past and future acquisitions are on-boarded in a consistent manner; leveraging ‘opinionated’ capabilities from the TPX portfolio.

The Head of Business Operations promotes solid execution and fact-based decision-making across the organization; acting as the ‘connective tissue’ that links all aspects of the organization seamlessly. The Head of Business Operations will lead the formation of our global employee and corporate systems strategy; ensuring our operating model, OKR’s, investment plan and portfolio are designed and implemented to deliver against the defined strategy.  

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Trusted advisor to the VP:  Serve as on-the-ground execution for a wide variety of cross-functional projects for both the VP and leadership team.  Ability to navigate internal networks and build internal consensus is a must.
  • Strategic Thinking and Research: Bring outside-in thinking to the organization, highlighting industry trends that should be considered and evaluated. Act as a disruptor questioning the status-quo. Drive all aspects of the development of the organizations strategy. As an ancillary responsibility form a cross-functional team to develop TPX’s ‘playbook’ to integrate past and future acquisitions.
  • Operating Rhythms:  Create and manage operating routines that facilitate decision-making, autonomy, leadership alignment, and team engagement, inclusive of staff meetings, operational reviews, leadership off sites, All Hands, etc. Set the agenda, facilitate discussion and communicate outcomes.
  • Program & Portfolio Management:  Direct the initiation and provide oversight of key enterprise programs; drive compliance with enterprise best practices and standards.  Aggregate programs as a portfolio, ensuring the portfolio delivers against desired business outcomes.
  • Financial Governance & Investment Decisioning:  Ensure strong financial hygiene, that all targets are met or exceeded, that the organization delivers ongoing efficiencies in cost per employee/AWF metric and that investments are properly decisioned and in-support of the required business outcomes
  • Executional accelerator for leadership:  Develop policies and/or processes necessary to implement decisions made by the leadership team.  Help to manage the VP’s direct staff and facilitate accountability for key priorities. Assist with executive talent matters as needed.
  • Communications for the VP: Create/shape presentations for Executive Leadership and public appearances.

The ideal candidate has proven experience working closely with executives, in a fast-paced environment; applying strong consultative skills, including business acumen, customer empathy, and the ability to influence and partner. This person thrives in a dynamic, global, fluid, matrix environment and is results-focused.  Is comfortable leading from both the front and the rear, as situations dictate. History in communications, business & strategy development preferred.
