Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a growth hacker? This is your chance. We are looking for someone analytical, energetic and intellectually curious to join the UK commercial growth team for a rotational internship. You will have the opportunity to help us in strategic and tactical decision-making, deliver actionable customer insights, and be a key contributor in projects that will shape the future of payments.
The Commercial Growth team is one of the most dynamic and fast-paced teams in the business, working cross-functionally with other PayPal teams in the UK and globally to deliver change. This may be through finding new sources of revenue, improving our acquisition of customers, optimising our products and processes and many other impactful ways. This is a unique opportunity for an analytical and strategic thinker to get great exposure in a growing environment and work with a very talented and diverse group of individuals on the most strategic initiatives for the business.

What does Success Look Like?

  • Support the Commercial Growth team with strategic and tactical decision making
  • Perform deep dives on strategic topics and deliver insights and recommendations
  • Diagnose areas of optimization and demonstrate hypothesis driven problem solving abilities
  • Track performance of different parts of the business and identify where and why we are over or underperforming
  • Deliver competitor analysis and insights
  • Help drive cross functional projects

About You:

  • Demonstrate a high level of analytical rigor in formulating insights, objectives, strategies and metrics
  • Show high energy, enthusiasm and curiosity to learn about the payments business and question the status quo
  • Ability to articulate complex ideas simply and summarise them effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experienced with Excel (knowledge of SQL is a plus), comfortable analyzing large quantities of data to derive insights
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Commercial strategy experience, preferably within Financial Services, Strategy Consulting and/or high growth start-up is advantageous, but not essential

You Must Also Have:

  • Strong record of leadership in an academic, professional, or extracurricular setting
  • Pursuing BS, BA or MS degrees with expected (achieved) grade of at least a 2:1 (or equivalent).
  • Be available for a 6 months internship starting June – July 2018
