The Protection Services Agent assists buyers and sellers by helping to resolve their dispute inquiries. They complete reviews and resolve claims in a timely and accurate manner using the latest in modern communication and technology tools and their knowledge of the buyer and seller protection policies. As a frontline representative, they are the primary point of contact for our customers and provide predictable, compassionate and timely resolution to all questions and inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Review and attach customer responses to claims filed against them or on their behalf.
  • Complete or cancel pending reversals when appropriate
  • Escalate accounts for restriction when appropriate
  • Close claims filed through PayPal’s Consumer Protection Policies
  • Escalate appropriately to Fraud Investigations
  • Validate documents and tracking information

Skills + Attributes

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle multiple queues and customer inquiries at once
  • Strong written (email) communication skills: use proper grammar and punctuation
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software technologies
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and guidelines
  • Strong working knowledge of external systems and PC based internet and software applications (Internet, Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Ability to make discretionary decisions based on research
  • Ability to practise judgement in line with PayPal buyer and seller protection policies
  • Ability to work towards targets and service levels
  • Ability to cope with high volumes of calls/emails/ cases
  • Thrives in a collaborative, team environment

Job Requirements

  • **Fluency in English and A Second European Language (Russian preferred) is required for this role**
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • MS Office experience
  • Experience with high volumes of cases/emails
  • Experience working towards targets/KPI’s
  • Transaction Processing experience
  • Transaction review experience
