Provide technical guidance to merchants and developers in their implementation of PayPal’s payment processing solutions (1st and 3rd party), APIs, and commerce products. Ensure merchants implement PayPal’s payment processing solutions with a high degree of quality and use optimal integration strategies and techniques

Primary job responsibilities include:


  • Provide technical guidance to merchants and developers in their implementation of PayPal’s payment processing solutions (1st and 3rd party), APIs, and commerce products.
  • Ensure merchants implement PayPal’s payment processing solutions with a high degree of quality and use optimal integration strategies and techniques.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and run test scenarios for technical issues with PayPal code, software, hardware, devices and endpoints, and communicate fixes or workarounds for an issue.
  • Generate and review in-depth technical information (Sample code, white papers, FAQs, Snippets) for distribution to PayPal merchants.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource to provide technical business solutions to merchants and developers, and to address PayPal product questions with our Sales departments.
  • Participate in the development of tools, systems and processes aimed at improving product supportability or overall support productivity.
  • Develop technical expertise in overall e-Commerce platforms such as shopping carts. Understanding each platform in technical aspects and be ready to develop merchant integration strategies on platforms for optimal efficiency to business KPI when new partnership with PayPal are introduced.
  • Provide merchants guidance to navigate through best practices and optimal integration solutions with PayPal products on each e-commerce platform. Be able to articulate business benefits for best practices to merchant and influence the quality of integration.   
  • Represent the full internal and external API capabilities of PayPal and PayPal properties


Job Requirements


Required Experience & Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Engineering
  • Proficient in:
    • Hands on expertise in Javascript, Java, REST API framework
    • 3+ years of experience with one or more major programming languages (C++, C, C#, Ruby, Perl, .NET, PHP, Python).
    • 2+ years of experience with web technologies including Web services,  XML, SOAP, APIs, NVP, HTTP/HTTPS, HTML, FTP/SFTP
    • Experience with mobile technologies including iOS, and Android application frameworks.
    • Firewalls, proxy, HTTP Errors, server side errors, TCP/IP
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal in English
  • Abilities to build test codes and sample integrations
  • Ability to successfully interact and dynamically adapt communication styles with all segment of merchants.

Preferred Work Experiences


3+ overall years of experience

Previous experience in Sales Engineering, System Engineering or Professional Services, preferably with companies engaged in e-commerce.

Previous experience with Payments (Credit Card, Banking, Online, Offline), especially with e-commerce systems, payments gateways and payment processors.

Knowledge of support/sales CRM (Salesforce)
