Reporting directly to the Head of Global Public Policy based in Washington DC, and working very closely with leaders in the Government Relations team across the world, the Global Public Policy Manager is responsible for helping to drive the future of financial services policy around the world. The Manager will provide support to PayPal’s policy work including strategic advice, external relationship management, and thought leadership. This person will be the catalyst for thoughtful responses to government inquiries, drive innovative strategic campaigns, research emerging public policy trends and drive innovative content that will be publicized on a variety of platforms. The Manager will also advocate PayPal’s positions on public policy before a number of internal and external stakeholders. Finally, the role will require integration and cooperation with Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Communications teams on strategic initiatives.

Core responsibilities:

The Global Public Policy Manager will:

•            Work closely with Head of Global Public Policy to chart out PayPal’s policy positions going forward;

•            Support PayPal’s global Government Relations team with long form and short form written materials;

•            Monitor legislative and executive/regulatory initiatives impacting PayPal globally, and strategically guide specific Government Relations campaigns;

•            Participate in trade associations focused on global public polciy

•            Draft and contribute to public policy and thought leadership papers

•            Advocate PayPal’s policy positions at conferences, in meetings, and internally.

•            Coordinate with internal teams on cross-functional projects.

•            Some travel to Asia, Europe, and around the US, when necessary.
