The Partner Product Marketing team is looking for a senior leader, star performer and a passionate advocate to help the definition and delivery of the next generation of payment and business solutions for Partner Merchants globally.

Overview:

Product marketing is a multi-dimensional discipline, requiring continual customer engagement, broad and deep knowledge of technical products and platforms, communication skills to develop messages and collateral that resonate with the market, and sophisticated marketing skills to design and execute demand generation campaigns.
 

From an inbound perspective, the PMM continually defines the most important customer needs and opportunities that will best help a segment of our customers. PMMs actively interact with customers in an individual country or region, to deeply understand their needs as well as any unique country, regulatory, and currency requirements plus market trends and innovation opportunities. They also help answer priority customer questions and requests, providing deep expertise about our products and how they are best used, appropriately handing off issues and bugs to the global product and support teams. PMM frequently collaborate with their segment, market and product management (PM) peers across the globe to distill the set of needs across all countries and regions into an overall set of globally prioritized needs and opportunities for a consumer segment.
 

From an outbound perspective, PMM leads the in-market activities to ensure successful product delivery, piloting, launch and ensure product go-to-market (GTM) activities.

Partners mean organizations that integrate on behalf of merchants. This includes, ecommerce platforms, software providers, accounting platforms, digital agencies and payment gateways to name but a few.

Responsibilities

  • Understand partner ecosystems, partner business models, needs of partners and PayPal solutions to uncover opportunities and craft partner specific solutions
  • Understand the Partner portfolio through market research, the competitive landscape, segment challenges and current practices to bring to life the segment to the solution team
  • Establish yourself internally and externally as the main point of contact for anything related to Partner merchant’s product needs through strong internal involvement across all PayPal assets
  • Serve as an essential conduit between product, sales, relationship management & operations in keeping key stakeholders appraised of latest product updates and shift in direction
     

Distillation and discovery efforts

  • Focus on hands-on development of end to end user experience, including qualitative and quantitative feedback on product from Partners & their merchants
  • Identify Partner product pain points, understand priorities and urgency
  • Communicate this knowledge to PayPal product management
  • Prioritize problem statements across all regions for Partner Merchants
     

Collaborate on segment targets

  • Transform ideas into actionable concepts, projects, timelines, considering financial implications, marketing needs and business objectives
  • Define and lead comprehensive go-to-market strategies and playbooks including positioning, key benefits, launch strategy, sales and partner materials
     

Required Experience

  • At least 7+ years of experience in product and business development roles at brands well known for understanding customer needs and delivering market-leading solutions
  • Strong mix of commercial and product skills required.
  • Used to work in international environment with matrix organization with demanding stakeholders on VP+ level.
  • Track record as a top leader of a high performing international team.
  • Intellectual curiosity and possess strong analytical and innovative thinking skills – able to easily simplify the complex and headline key information to aid in quick responses and action.
  • Successful track record in defining and delivering products to market predicated on customer voice.
  • Deep experience leading qualitative and quantitative research, to understand consumer needs and translating them into product and marketing strategies that have succeeded in the marketplace.
  • Process driven individual who has effectively managed and executed complex, multi-layer work streams in a fast-paced matrix organization collaborating across our product, sales, marketing and research teams, as well as external agencies.
  • Highly effective communicator and great networker, who interacts with clarity and purpose across all levels of organization.
  • Strategic thinker who understands the big picture but can also manage the tactical and technical details.
  • Team player who can build strong working relationships and executes as ONE team in a dynamic environment.

  • Work with Marketing & GTM teams to create strategies and execute activities that will drive partner advocacy, merchant acquisition, and increase total merchant processing volume.

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or MSc a very strong plus.
