This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing PayPal’s Third- Party Management Program. This position will lead the enterprise-wide transformation around TPMP including enhancement of the framework, governance, and user experience for stakeholders involved in the third-party lifecycle process. This position will not only lead a team of TPMP experts but also cross functional stakeholders to collectively design a transformation plan around people, process, and technology for TPMP. This program leader will identify areas of easily attainable success that can provide immediate positive impacts and develop an implementation plan that can be operationalized in the long term.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and oversee PayPal’s enhanced Third- Party Management Program (TPMP)
  • Build and lead a team of TPMP experts to design and implement the enhanced Third-Party Management Program
  • Provide leadership, strategic direction, oversight and management of the TPMP
  • Enhance and implement policies, procedures and program governance to ensure effective risk management of third-party in accordance with industry standards
  • Serve as the internal and external point-of-contact for the TPMP
  • Influence and manage change across people, process, and technology to design and implement the TPMP
  • Develop ways to improve business processes, user experience, and systems involved in the third-party life cycle (due diligence; on-boarding; monitoring; issue management and escalation; renewal, termination and exit) with an emphasis on a risk-based approach that is consistent and repeatable across risk dimensions
  • Align practical risk mitigation with business objectives; build and foster a third-party risk-conscious corporate culture
  • Effectively integrate TPMP processes and technology to various internal processes and technology internally to ensure end to end oversight of the third-party lifecycle
  • Support and oversee a team of internal control leads responsible for ensuring that the company is complying with regulatory obligations as it relates to Third Party requirements including information security, privacy, data, resiliency, financial crimes, liquidity, legal etc., with the appropriate escalation path to subject matter experts
  • Lead Develop and facilitate appropriate training on third party risk management program
  • Develop standardized reporting to enable continuous monitoring against program goals
  • Present program results to risk committees, auditors, internal and external stakeholders
  • Interact with product, business and legal teams across the company to develop deep insights into the mechanics of how teams integrate with third parties and incorporate appropriate controls to minimize data risks
  • Advise system and process improvements with business owners to enable safeguards and reduce risk
  • Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders on Third Party management program and its on-going objectives

The successful candidates should also be able to offer a strategic perspective, sound business judgment, agility to adapt to changing priorities at hand, and be able to effectively work and communicate collaboratively / cross-functionally with multiple teams located in different geographies. Candidate must have a hands-on approach, strong intellectual curiosity and attention to detail and organization, and a passion for achieving practical business impact.

Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:

  • 15+ years of risk management, third party relationship management experience and 10+ years in a leadership role driving leading large-scale business transformation initiatives
  • Superb ability to work with various different stakeholders across the company including functional team leaders, vendor managers, control partners, engineers
  • Proven track record of driving results and building effective relationships with all levels of management
  • Ability to multitask effortlessly and manage competing priorities under demanding deadlines
  • Extensive experience working on complex transformation initiatives and large-scale change management
  • Proven track record of building a high performing and collaborative team
  • Ability to navigate the gray and multitask effortlessly and manage competing priorities under demanding deadlines
  • Embody an entrepreneurial spirit, intellectual curiosity, and a bias towards action
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment which demands quick thinking and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communications skills
