What is the opportunity? PayPal Shopping is a new initiative that is in charge of creating a brand-new perspective on PayPal service. We are building from scratch novel experiences that will engage consumers during all stages of their shopping journey and create a new look at the PayPal value both for consumers and merchants. PayPal Digital Gifts team is one of the pillars of the Shopping initiative. We are looking for a full-stack engineer who is passionate about code craftsmanship, continuous improvement and agile development. You will be working on a project that will change the way digital gift cards are being used and will have a lasting impact on the consumer experience when they want to use gift cards or send it to their friends and family. The project has a lot of visibility at PayPal and there are lots of opportunities for growth.

What you will do?

  • Responsible for full software lifecycle and development of front-end systems components,
  • Utilize functional design and analysis skill in JavaScript to design and implement front-end infrastructure
  • Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
  • Assure the overall quality and integrity of the system components. Engage in the automation of software testing and simulations and contribute to performance tuning, improvement, and load testing

What do you need to succeed?

  • 3+ years experience with web application development including Node.js applications on top of RESTful APIs.
  • 2+ years of solid knowledge of popular JS frameworks and libraries (React & Redux (preferred), AngularJS, Backbone, Underscore, etc.).
  • Experience with web frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Webpack, LESS, Bootstrap, Dust.
  • Passionate about developing amazing user experiences and strong attention to detail.
  • Real world experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, and design constraints on the web.
  • Strong desire to learn, push the envelope, and share knowledge with others.
  • Well experienced in developing and executing automated unit, functional and integration tests
