We create resources and guidelines that developers and designers use to build accessible, consistent, performant and engaging user experiences. PayPal UI Engineering team is seeking a Full-stack Javascript engineer in Bangalore to work on our next generation Design System platform to build the frontend libraries for our visual language.

PayPal UI Engineering is seeking Full Stack Web Application / UI Engineer to join the Design System team to help continuously build, and make our library of web components. You will work closely with designers and other developers to provide technical guidance and deliver accessible, robust components PayPal uses in web applications across all business domains. Quality is at the forefront of everything our team does, and we are looking for true passion for writing robust, re-usable, scalable and well-tested code.

Our ideal candidate :

  • Is experienced with building highly-interactive applications using React.js/Agular js
  • Deeply understands the JavaScript language, including modern APIs and syntax (ES6+)
  • Has a robust understanding of HTML and CSS core concepts and best practices
  • Has API and library design experience—you know how to build software that other engineers can use successfully. You care about the overall developer experience and are careful to make the right way of using the system the easiest way.
  • Understanding of managing and publishing releases using Git branching and tools like npm and Yarn.
  • Demonstrated awareness of cross-browser compatibility issues and client-side performance.
  • Is knowledgeable about a wide range of web and internet technologies
  • Brings creativity to their work and designs resilient, scalable, and maintainable software
  • Has experience using JavaScript build tools like Gulp, Webpack or Rollup
  • Experienced with design systems, likes of Google material design, Salesforce Lightning design system, and Shopify Polaris
  • Has functional knowledge of inclusive design: accessibility, and related tooling
  • Has Experience creating accessible components, including knowledge of ARIA and WCAG conformance.
  • Has strong communication skills. You can work with engineers, designers, product managers, and engineering managers to prioritize work and identify opportunities that will benefit multiple teams.


You will work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and experimentations are a given, your responsibilities will include:

  • Build and maintain our component and styles library
  • Help evolve the frontend infrastructure and architecture
  • Construct performant and accessible components, ensuring that our library complies with best practices.
  • Collaborate with design, research, and product to build an elegant and performant UX
  • Work closely with front-end engineers across multiple products and teams, advocating for system adoption, coordinating and collaborating on design decisions and standard methodologies


  • Proficient in client & server-side MVC JavaScript frameworks like React.js / AngularJS, State management via Redux, HTML5, CSS3. CSS frameworks like Bootstrap / Zurb.
  • Experience in developing automated unit and functional tests
  • Experience in an Agile development process
  • Solid knowledge of algorithms and design patterns
  • Have a passion for quality and writing clean, readable code that scales and performs well
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • 6+ years of software design and web application development 
  • BS or equivalent degree in Computer Science
