Core Platform and Infrastructure (CPI) team is the technology engine that powers PayPal’s business. CPI Framework Team is primarily responsible delivering highly scalable application development frameworks for PayPal’s product development needs. These framework stack enables the development of various mid-tier and UI components and provide fundamental backbone in products and services. The team delivers frameworks that leveraging open source stacks on Java, Scala and JavaScript on PayPal’s private/public cloud infrastructure.  You will be part of team helping engineer world’s largest multi-tiered, high-performing, scalable, and high-available Payments platform.


Software engineer in the framework tools team will be responsible for working collaboratively with a global team to engineers and technical leaders for developing next generation of frameworks and framework tools.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and test complex, multi-tier distributed software applications collaboratively with peers and technical leaders.
  • Segment and design system layers to support componentized and layered application development, including business logic functionality and database/component repository access.
  • Work with Technical Leads, Architects, Product Management, Engineers and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, availability, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to development goals and principles.
  • Share release management duties on feature rollouts, share on-call responsibilities
  • Ability to find and help fix performance, scalability, and other live issues in a very time critical environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members to achieve end vision.
  • Be problem solvers and drive to get results.
  • Communicated effectively to peers and leadership on tasks and projects.
