We are looking for employees for the position of French Sales Engineer from our offices in Ireland.

The French Sales Engineer will be part of the SMB Merchant Integration & Optimisation team, and will work with various internal and external client groups to drive the adoption of PayPal for Merchants within the PayPal Merchant Operations portfolio. You will be responsible for providing product functional expertise, analytical insight and implementation consultancy for retailers and partners, who have implemented PayPal products and form part of our extensive merchant network in EMEA.

To be successful you will demonstrate outstanding technical ability and agility, coupled with a passion to deliver improvements that have tangible benefits for our customers and, of equal importance, our consumers. As a consultant, expert and trusted partner, you will build relationships with the customer portfolio to gain a deep understanding of their PayPal product use, to identity and deliver technical enhancements.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrable experience in technical pre-sales, implementation and / or consultancy.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication with the ability to successfully interact and dynamically adapt communication styles with all levels of client organisations.
  • Knowledge of internet and mobile Internet based commerce and payment systems.
  • Experience with Internet Technologies including Web Services and the ability to technically troubleshoot applications /code. 
  • Analytical Skills, the ability to provide tangible insights from a range of data sources.
  • Highly motivated, structured yet flexible and adaptable 
  • Ability to grasp product and functional knowledge quickly. Ability to present and train on both product and technical solutions.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment, with an outstanding attention to detail
  • Good team player with collaborative approach and ability to forge constructive relationships quickly
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent, 4+ years of professional related experience.

The objectives of the role are:

  • Support Account Management and Business Support teams to upsell PayPal’s products to merchants and channel partners in the local markets
  • Drive the integration of PayPal’s products into merchants online business.
  • Be the primary contact person for representatives of merchants throughout the integration process.
  • Being involved from early phase of the sales process until the initial monitoring of post-sales performance.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Run technical presentations, demos of functionalities and sample integrations to support sales process.
  • Work with merchants to modify existing workflows in finance, customer service, network operations, etc.
  • Work with Account Management and Business Support to provide a seamless integration experience for the merchant.
  • Track initial merchant performance after live-to-site launches for tracking engagement success.
  • Merchant Ops point of contact for optimisation
  • Through BU connections, stay up to date on all Optimisation feature
  • Share the finding with the other team members
  • Maintain Mockup templates
  • Own, analyse optimisation dashboards to track improvements
  • Prepare optimisation analyses (API, flow, mock up) for merchants
  • Drive optimisation proposals and have them implemented on the Account Management and Business Support portfolio

Requirements:

  • Be completely fluent in English and French.
  • Demonstrable deep experience with at least one web/software development environments (e.g. .NET, Java, PHP, C/C#/C++), and project experience with at least three others.
  • 3+ years software or web development background.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a dynamic work environment Relationships skills, and a proven history of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, clients and other internal customers.
  • Excellent intellectual, analytical rigor and quantitative analysis capabilities; solution-driven problem solver with an innovative mindset being able to think outside the box.
  • Ability to interact in many-way communications (email, chat, conference calls) and convey messages both verbally and in written communications.
  • Excellent customer communication and presentation skills; being able to transmit message to its audience.
  • Very organized, self-starter, results- and quality-oriented.
  • Quick learner, capable of understanding the intricacies of a complex product in a complex industry.
  • An excellent team player with great interpersonal, cross-cultural and communication skills.
