The Business System Analyst will be responsible for providing analytical solution of all programs under Paypal FLOD Internal Control Center of Excellence (COE). Responsibilities will consist primarily on analyze and understand business requirement from COE and work with team on report solution development. This role requires effective communication, analytical skills and familiarity with BI development systems.

Core Duties:

  • Analyze and understand core business processes and data flows to design and develop BI solutions that are scalable, repeatable and effective
  • Create SQL queries to troubleshoot, develop metrics and create ad-hoc reporting as needed; data systems competence is expected, specifically Teradata, Tableau, and MSSQL, big data is a plus
  • Create and deliver solutions leveraging existing data model and reporting infrastructure with metric governance and enterprise solutions in mind
  • Assist internal customers with acceptance testing and adoption
  • Create and maintain requirements, specifications, and business processes documentation
  • Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported and resolved in a timely manner
  • Participate in special projects or support escalations as needed and perform other duties as assigned;

Prerequisite Knowledge and Proficiencies:

  • Working knowledge of relational databases (Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL tuning; strong database, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Tableau report or other BI visualization tool development;
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze information, and provide feedback and solutions.
  • Ability to understand the interdependency of technology and business processes.
  • Skill in focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, clarifying next steps, and prioritizing work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to work independently to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and work effectively under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Must display a high level of professionalism, sound judgment, commitment, integrity, teamwork, and customer service.
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate with several stakeholders in English.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with Intermediate skills in other Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Visio, Word, PowerPoint).


  • 2-3+ year of progressive experience in data analysis and reporting; strong mathematical skills required
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Management Information System required or the equivalent professional experience in addition to 2-year work experience in BI, database development, business analysis.
  • Working experience as analyst, BI developer in payment/finance service industry or management consulting firms is a plus;
