Summary
At PayPal, we put people at the center of everything we do. As a as the Director, Internal Controls Business Analysis in the First Line of Defense (FLOD) Center of Excellence (COE), your primary responsibilities is to lead a global team of business analysts and Data Engineers that use data and statistical methods to provide insights into business performance. The Director, Internal Controls Business Analysis will ensure their team works at the project/process level and will be accountable for producing expected deliverables. Projects will encompass full front to back processes and can have scope within all functional areas of the PayPal Enterprise. The Director, Internal Controls Business Analysis may be required to lead / support (global) cross functional working groups or engage subject matter experts (SMEs) to support them in their own delivery, i.e. for problem solving, process mapping, process re–design, requirements gathering, procedural documentation, etc.
Success in this role will require the Director, Internal Controls Business Analysis to easily adapt to the needs of the business across multiple functions (and time zones), analyze and interpret data efficiently, stay abreast to the changing regulatory landscape and work at pace to deliver.

  • Effectively present decision options, considering time criticality and potential roadblocks using available information including patterns, trends or missing pieces of data to make or facilitate decision making
  • Actively support and promote a culture of progress and ensure day-to-day quality & risk mitigation is maintained through periods of strategic change

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong, proven people and program management skills.

  • Expert analytical, cross-referencing and deductive reasoning skills.   Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, review and analyze data, locate its source, effectively assess risk, identify root cause of issues and identify operational efficiencies. Ability to determine best course of action/make sound recommendations for correction of testing/monitoring findings
  • Strong computer knowledge; excellent MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Anticipate and manage issues, risks and dependencies; Act to mitigate these quickly; handle any unforeseen roadblocks swiftly and effectively
  • Thrives working in a fast paced environment while maintaining composure and able to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Job Requirements:

  • 6+ years management experience with medium to large sized teams
  • Ecommerce, banking industry, Internet Company, financial institution or transaction processor experience preferred.
  • Compliance and Audit experience for large financial institutions.  Prefer end-to-end program and production leadership.
  • Proficiency in systems (Internet, Office Applications) and proficiency in and/or ability to quickly learn internal business systems.
  • Experience in a Contact Center environment with direct leadership of line management leaders
  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Flexibility to operate effectively in a global construct and to travel frequently.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the use of database applications, SQL, analytical tools such as SAS or R
  • Experience using Lean Six Sigma/Six Sigma process

Educational Requirements:

  • BS/BA Degree or educational equivalent
