The internship will allow the intern to be part of the Luxembourg Finance team, overseeing activities of the PayPal EU headquarter entity. The role will be focused on developing financial controls and analysis to support PayPal Finance team in ensuring integrity, accuracy and consistency of results. The intern will participate in day to day finance operations, learn to organize, coordinate and document reviews and processes with various accounting stakeholders. The intern will also have a possibility to support new PayPal products and M&A integrations, in a complex, payment processing, environment. The person will support budgeting, forecasting and reporting activities. The internship is based in Luxembourg and will be 6 months.

Financial Control

  • Assist in strengthening PayPal control framework by developing additional controls, analytical reviews over various accounting processes
  • Own and coordinate monthly review meetings with various finance stakeholders
  • Identify and extract accurate data to prepare management reporting and other teams finance related questions
  • Perform risk assessments, identify improvements required in the control and risk management framework and ensure improvements are made in an effective, sustainable, way and documented according to PayPal’s best practices
  • Monitor KPIs and KRIs to drive the performance of the operations
  • Perform monthly and ad-hoc business reviews over PayPal products

Budget

  • Assist in maintaining a forecast for PayPal’s main European entity
  • Collaborate with business teams, to review submitted spent requests in accordance to PayPal Best Practices

Business expansion

  • Assist in reviewing and assessing new products implementations with product and business teams
  • Support preparation end to end finance documentation for new products implementation

Requirement

  • University Degree finalized or at the final year (Masters preferred)
  • English is mandatory; any other EU language is an advantage
  • Has accounting basics (IFRS and US GAAP knowledge) and quickly understand new concepts
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ambitious, willing to learn and go extra step to resolve encountered problems
  • High level of energy and creativity, an entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to work in a fast growth environment  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Sense of humour
