Seeking a Financial Analyst to join Braintree's financial planning and analysis org and cover a multitude of activities including: financial planning, close, scenario modeling, and monthly reporting

PayPal is a leading payments facilitator that enables more than 200 million account holders to transact in over 200 markets around the world.  Braintree represents one of the most exciting areas of the company, providing cutting edge payment processing capabilities to some of the fastest growing and most successful merchants including Uber, AirBnB, Yelp, and Casper.

The Braintree Finance team is looking for intellectually curious finance professionals with strong business acumen to help facilitate Braintree’s continued rapid growth.  The Financial Analyst will be responsible for contributing towards a multitude of financial planning and analytical activities. The individual will be expected to create and manage forecasting models, help close the financial books on a monthly basis, and provide financial insights to key business stakeholders.  Ideal candidates will have a mix of experience that includes reporting, forecasting, financial modeling, and analytics.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Financial reporting: partner with accounting and operations to successfully close books on monthly basis

  • Analytics: report and explain underlying drivers of monthly business performance

  • Financial forecasting: construct and maintain models used to predict short-term and longer-term financial trajectory for the overall Braintree business

  • Financial modeling: develop financial models that provide insight into the impact of various actions on Braintree’s P&L  

  • Subject matter expert: serve as subject matter expert and primary point of contact for financial matters related to Braintree for stakeholders across the PayPal organization


  • 3-5 years of combined experience in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), investment banking, and / or management consulting roles

  • Strong knowledge of financial statements and business acumen

  • BA / BS in finance, economics, or other quantitative field; MBA or equivalent type of certification a plus

  • Experience building and managing complex financial models a plus

  • Strong work ethic, ability to juggle multiple priorities, as well as thrive in a fast-paced environment is a must
