As we continue to grow in today’s fast paced environment, the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) org is responsible to provide reliable, available and efficient infrastructure and services. Lessons learned are utilized to improve processes and influence the overall organization to deliver high quality customer experiences. All of this is done while fostering a culture of fun and opportunity for the team dedicated to serving our customers. The SRE organization is currently looking for a collaborative and action-oriented player to join our Program and Portfolio Management team. This dynamic role will support a wide range of strategic infrastructure related efforts that will transform how PayPal operates and executes in the future.

You will be an essential part of SRE Program and Portfolio Management team and will be solely responsible to drive one or more infrastructure and operations related programs.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Project planning/management
  • Working in close partnership with Technology leaders to build program roadmaps, manage critical dependencies and links between projects, resolving problems, planning issues and project changes/challenges
  • Effective communication with leadership and provide visibility into program progress, risk and challenges
  • Manage and refine the process regularly as well as create communication channels to build awareness with stakeholders
  • Lead end-to-end program with various stakeholders, drive discussions and decisions with participants both within and outside of SRE
  • Partner with non-SRE teams to effectively drive PayPal wide initiatives
  • Gain understanding of any new technology to lead technical programs and effectively drive discussions/decisions around any technical challenges
  • Working in a collaborative, open team environment (e.g. lots of impromptu brainstorming, frequent co-ownership on project deliverables)
  • Provide mentorship to junior Program Managers in the team
  • Live & breath one-team behavior both within and outside of SRE

Key requirements:

  • Project Manager with 7+ years of IT experience, preferably with 3+ years of exposure in IT infrastructure
  • Customer focused and solution oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to move quickly from insight to action
  • Collaborative, self-starter and self-sufficient individual
  • Thrives in a dynamic, stimulating work environment
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Ability to motivate, mentor and coach other team members
  • Familiarity with tools like JIRA/ServiceNow, MS-Office, Smartsheets/Clarizen, Collaboration tools (Slack, Skype, etc.)

Educational Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a discipline emphasizing communication skills, business savvy and/or organizational know-how. Master’s degree preferred
