PayPal is looking for an engineering manager to lead its Billing product & engineering portfolio in Bangalore. In this role, you’ll be leading a team of engineers to define and develop next generation billing products, customize it further as per merchant/partner and Compliance requirements

This role is an integral part of the merchant payment products & wallet solutions organization. You will be leading and managing billing portfolio which has three product lines. This is one of the fastest growing products in the market and we are revamping both product & platform with aggressive revenue targets.

You'll work with our architects, product managers/product owners and program management to iterate & deliver roadmap committed and achieve OKRs defined. Collaboration is key not only within the team but across the organization with other stakeholders to succeed as individual & as the team.

In this role, you'll work in full stack development (ReactJS/NodeJS, Java/J2EE technologies), PayPal proprietary frameworks and Big data systems et al. You are expected to deliver value to business and organization by equally focusing on people (your team), customer/product and engineering/technology. We are following agile methodology and expectation is to optimize product & engineering time by asking right questions to detect & mitigate issues early in the cycle. Reviewing and strengthening acceptance criteria for both functional and non-functional aspects is critical to deliver high-quality product.

Regular team engagement is important to provide required career guidance and support needed. It includes goal setting, conducting team meetings and active listening to people concerns with empathy in 1x1.

Here are the qualification expected:

  • 8+ years of experience planning, designing, developing and delivering software related to platforms

  • 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager leading software development teams

  • A successful candidate will be a strong leader who is able to work in a high performing team, can creatively balance high quality delivery with customer focus to meet business needs, has excellent communication skills, and continuous record of delivering results in an aggressive and fast paced environment

  • Ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders and leadership

  • Providing technical leadership, triaging issues and doing code/test-case review is must

  • Flexibility in work hours to give priority to business and customer

  • BE/B.Tech in computer science or equivalent
