The PayPal sales organization acquires merchant and partners via direct and indirect sales teams. The global sales operations team supports the functions essential to the global sales force. These include planning, process optimization, compensation support, sales tools management, sales and partner analytics, and account management. The Director, Sales Operations - Europe is responsible for driving sales productivity and effectiveness, supporting the Head of Sales – Europe and the European sales teams and working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled within the sales organization. The Director, Sales Operations - Europe is a member of the global sales operations leadership team and works with the centers of excellence in order to execute on projects and acts as the central European point of contact for the global sales leadership teams.


  • Manages a sales operations team responsible for enabling the European sales teams.
  • Responsible for coordinating business planning process and outputs as part of enabling the operating rhythms of the European sales teams, and for driving and enabling sales best practices including Pipeline & Forecast Management, Territory & Account Planning and Lead Management.
  • Partner with sales management to oversee day-to-day process execution, identify problems, recommend/take corrective action and communicate performance results and/or changes throughout sales organization and cross-functional business unit team.
  • Lead sales forecasting, planning, and processes used within the sales organization. Proactively monitors and strives to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales organization’s planning efforts.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on sales GTM process, tracking and administration of new sales campaigns and products.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement
  • Plan and execute the tactical elements of sales to develop best practices and continuously improve effectiveness: sales model/processes/methodologies, competencies, productivity metrics, quota planning, coverage model, territory design, lead generation management, departmental communications
  • Create and administer new sales process needed for contracting, pricing, compliance, reporting or compensation.
  • Manages and provides input to senior leadership and Compensation COE in the development and administration of sales incentive compensation programs.
  • Acts as a liaison with other departments by understanding the sales model and ensuring the integrity of information available through various system and reporting structures.
  • Assist in the development of internal audits and controls to ensure integrity of business processes and data.
  • Provide overall support and departmental coordination for Global Sales Operations team inquiries, ad-hoc requests and projects.

Job Requirements

  • years of experience within sales management, sales operations or management consulting within Europe
  • Experience in banking, payments, financial services or fintech would be desirable
  • Strong Leadership capabilities, including experience of building highly motivated team
  • Requires an excellent understanding of standard business practices related to Sales Operations processes and systems (sales cycle,, reporting, forecasting, territory management and sales quotas).
  • Clear, strategic thinker with vision, with the ability to execute on priorities
  • Ability to collaborate with senior management and cross functional stakeholders
  • Confident self-starter with a keen attention for detail and an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work with colleagues in Europe, the United States and Asia and on occasion accommodate calls and deadlines aligned to their time zones
  • Fluency in German & English (written and spoken) required
