Job Description

Fueled by a fundamental belief that having access to financial services creates opportunity, PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) is committed to democratizing financial services and empowering people and businesses to join and thrive in the global economy. Our open digital payments platform gives PayPal’s 254 million active account holders the confidence to connect and transact in new and powerful ways, whether they are online, on a mobile device, in an app, or in person. Through a combination of technological innovation and strategic partnerships, PayPal creates better ways to manage and move money, and offers choice and flexibility when sending payments, paying or getting paid. Available in more than 200 markets around the world, the PayPal platform, including Braintree, Venmo and Xoom enables consumers and merchants to receive money in more than 100 currencies, withdraw funds in 56 currencies and hold balances in their PayPal accounts in 25 currencies.

The Director Program Management, Developer Experience, will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of strategic priorities across the organization in close collaboration with both Product and Engineering leaders. Demonstrable past experience doing the same at scale is required including building and developing teams, putting in place the necessary mechanics for PMOs and organizations to work effectively, and creating communication strategies that keep teammates, leaders, and customers informed. Your strong goal orientation is a key ingredient to inspiring and focusing the teams you lead and influence. To be successful in this role you will need to be a highly motivated and a customer-oriented problem solver. You thrive when bringing order to chaos and navigating ambiguity. You strategize paths forward when others cannot and adapt quickly to change. You are as comfortable and capable in the weeds solving problems as you are hovering high and working strategically. The tool kit required for both is necessary: focus on problem solving, accountability and outcomes, strong ability to influence others at multiple levels, initiative, drive, and structured analytical thinking. Our work supports the whole of PayPal and thus, the millions of merchants and consumers worldwide—our customers— who rely on our platform every day. You are an excellent fit for this role if you are an experienced program and organizational leader with a reputation for getting things done, who scales quickly, thinks critically, acts responsibly, and partners naturally across a variety of functions. Your good judgment, negotiation skills, and analytical talents are essential to your success.

  • 10+ years experience business operations leading strategy development, financial planning/budgeting, portfolio and resource management, analytics and reporting, story-telling through slides

  • Proven expertise developing strategies and solutions to make teams, organizations, projects and initiatives work efficiently and successfully

  • A record of developing professional relationships, collaborating and communicating across the matrix with business and technology stakeholders and multiple geographies

  • Impeccable collaboration and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, self-direct and follow-through with a high attention to detail

  • Ability to influence both peers and leaders, to build consensus while dealing with ambiguity, and make or delegate decisions when necessary

  • People management experience of team of 10 or more

  • Demonstrated aptitude for risk identification and mitigation
