We are looking for an experienced, dynamic business leader with an experienced Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) background to take the role of Director, People Technology Support Services. This is a critical role within the People Technology team which will manage the functional operational environment through support and issue management for all People solutions, including Workday, Salesforce, Silkroad and the HR Portal (the HR section of the internal portal that serves PayPal employees­­ globally). This role will also oversee staff responsible for M&A data management and analytics solutions supporting all phases of acquisition work (opportunity identification and screening, due diligence, integration planning, etc.). This person will partner with our IT organization to ensure operational readiness and stability for all HR systems, whether newly implemented or already in production. The Director partners with the People Shared Services organization (MyHR), People Centers of Expertise (COEs), and the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to ensure the systems that support the People function are operating as expected, have clearly defined support escalation models in place, and are ready to successfully support the People programs and business cycle processes, such as compensation planning, talent acquisition, talent management and other People initiatives.   • Build, lead, develop, and motivate a high performing, multi-cultural team of Support Analysts, reinforcing the organization’s core values and expectations through exemplary behavior, communication, and coaching practices.

  • Coach and mentor team responsible for developing and enhancing strong partnerships/collaboration with business process owners and stakeholders with a commitment to providing customer-focused quality service

  • Develop and implement processes and procedures that guarantee that HR systems are functionally and technically ready for people cyclical business processes
  • Work with OCIO partners to develop and implement processes and procedures that guarantee smooth production implementations, including user testing, signoff, and operational readiness procedures
  • Determine the appropriate metrics that should be implemented to monitor overall system health
  • Develop and implement customer support escalation models that are integrated across the service delivery channels (on-line, call center, and functional and technical experts)
  • Implement a regular cadence of operational reviews to give visibility into the health of the people systems ecosystem to senior leadership
  • Understand and implement shared services best practices for supporting and continuously improving the delivery channels
  • Identify synergies and other opportunities for enhancement of current systems, resources and processes for improved efficiency, quality, timeliness, and accuracy of people functions
  • Drive the adoption of self-serve technologies including the HR Portal and enriching content through new and innovative means
  • Ensure content management/governance process is followed and refined as needed

The attributes of the successful candidate are:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related degree or equivalent experience
  • 15 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in developing and implementing operational practices and tools
  • A minimum of five 5 years of experience in Workday, SAP and/or other HR technologies
  • Strong working knowledge of the HR business function, including experience in working in an HR Shared Services organization: a strong understanding of HR business processes and the technologies that support those processes
  • Understanding of the IT systems life cycle, with a particular emphasis on testing, production turnover, and support
  • Hands-on, with solid expertise in implementing support processes and escalation models, operational metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience directly dealing with multicultural issues inside and outside the team in global, multinational companies
  • Ability to provide consultation and expert advice to management.
  • Ability to deal with complex difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
  • Ability to work in Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery models
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems logically and systematically
  • Highly flexible, ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines in order to execute well in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving organization
  • Understands the climate, culture, and relationships within an organization, how things happen and are accomplished, what works, and what doesn't work.
  • Responsive, fast-paced decision-making skills with the ability to drive business results.
  • Experience supporting multiple HR lines of business such as Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Operations, Inclusion and Diversity, etc… required.
