The Global Business Intelligence team supports PayPal’s executives by delivering world-class performance management solutions and analytical tools that provide insights on business drivers, trends, and opportunities. The team’s scope covers all of PayPal’s businesses globally, encompassing 260 million+ active accounts in more than 200 markets. The team is part of the Global Analytics and Insights Team, reporting up through the CFO organization. The Director role reports directly to the Global Head of Business Intelligence and is a high-impact, high-visibility position with exposure to PayPal’s senior leadership team across regions and functions. The Director will be responsible for leading a team that works on large scale BI and data projects aimed at driving business growth, efficiency and commonality. Additionally, the Director will play a key role in the move to Next Gen BI and defining the strategy for leveraging new tools and technologies (e.g. AI/ML, NLP, etc.) to deliver reporting and insights. The Director role requires strong strategic and analytical skills, and the ability to work with stakeholders across geographies, businesses and functions. Additionally, the role requires strong technical skills (SQL, BI Visualization tools, databases) and the ability to drive change and innovation.


  • Develop a deep understanding of PayPal’s business lines, products and geographies
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify key performance metrics and build executive-level dashboards and analytical tools that track the progress of PayPal’s business lines and of high-priority initiatives
  • Analyze Next Gen BI technologies and support the development of the team’s strategy and roadmap
  • Perform deep-dives to identify challenges, opportunities and specific actions required
  • Lead a direct team and influence partners to execute large scale projects


  • 12+ years of experience in business intelligence or analytics functions
  • Experience managing high-performing business intelligence or analytical teams
  • Experience managing senior level stakeholder, including strong influencing skills and the ability to navigate a global organization
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, BI reporting tools (e.g. Qlikview, QlikSense, Tableau) and databases (Oracle, Teradata, Hadoop)
  • Experience in Financial Services and Payments is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Bachelors degree from a top institution. MBA/MS is a plus.
