Join the Global Data Management Oversight team at PayPal where we are building a global framework to effectively manage and oversee data risk. We are helping rethink how we use data at PayPal to fulfill the needs of our customers (both internal and external). We drive creation of delightful, frictionless and complaint payment experiences while maximizing the value of our data. In this role you will get an opportunity to define the data management oversight program. As Director, Global Data Management Oversight you will have opportunity to define policies associated with data risk and compliance management. This position will require a significant amount of collaboration across all business areas within PayPal Core and its adjacencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage changes/updates to the Enterprise Data Governance policy, inclusive of coordinating any additional policies that need to be developed to ensure oversight and control of data management activities across the company.
  • Operate as a change agent across PayPal, guiding and directing various data risk and compliance management activities, focusing on growing the maturity level within the company.  
  • Develop oversight framework for Enterprise Metadata, enterprise data quality, and master data
  • Participate in the data governance forums
  • Align data management oversight to enterprise risk and compliance management policies and process
  • Provide the ability to connect the dots across various data initiatives-defining and executing the data initiatives alignment framework and on-going processes.
  • Educate and train Risk Control Officers across all business areas to understand the components of the Enterprise Data Governance Policy and how to comply with the policy.
  • Work with the Enterprise Data Management team to align policy requirements to the data management procedures and guidelines
  • Develop independent program testing associated with compliance to policies
  • Align Enterprise Data management policy to external regulations, such as, GDPR, CCPA, etc.
  • Identify and stay abreast of data related regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in data management and/or risk and compliance programs
  • 10+ years of program development and project management experience
  • Strong skills in team leadership and building positive business partner relationships
  • Strong networking skills and ability to work across multiple organizations to accomplish diverse goals
  • Must have a high degree of expertise in data management-understanding of how all facets of data management are integrated to provide best value.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical development teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with data related regulations including privacy, cybersecurity, data localization, open banking

Education:

BS degree in Engineering, policy, related field
