The Director, Consumer Lending Solutions will be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities to expand our global lending products and services - with a focus on the Merchant side of the PayPal ecosystem.

Overview

This role requires exceptional product, process, relationship management, and communication skills. This person will have a proven track record scoping and building products and experiences for retailers and the many partners with which they work (marketing & merchandising, web site service providers, payment service providers, etc.).


Responsibilities

  • Working with PayPal's merchant marketing, merchant sales and product marketing teams, identify opportunities for PayPal to create market-leading lending solutions that merchants want, taking into account market needs, regulatory and risk considerations, financial return, etc.

  • Develop product concepts and customer journeys based on a detailed understanding of PayPal’s products and technical capabilities (and the retailer's or partner’s, if applicable); ensure that the plan takes greatest advantage of existing components and minimizes custom development
  • Test these product concepts with merchants throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Work as a key member of our cross-functional expansion team to have initiatives and investments approved; upon approval, define and document detailed business requirements
  • Ensure that, as business requirements are translated to product and technical requirements, the product continues to meet market needs and appropriate tradeoffs are made throughout the development cycle

Requirements

  • 12+ years of software product management, product marketing, or launch management experience
  • Understanding of, and direct experience with, retailers (online & offline) and the B2B service providers who support them
  • Successful track record or working and collaborating as a team, and across multiple stakeholders and geographies, to deliver project outcomes
  • Demonstrated fluency with technology platforms, customer experience frameworks and implementation, 
  • Clear, strategic thinker with vision who can also be hands-on in driving execution
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
