This role has a dual reporting line to VP, APAC Marketing (hard) and VP, China (dotted). This role has two components 1) CBT Marketing & 2) China Marketing 1) Responsible for leading the development and execution of the Consumer and Merchant Marketing Programs across the Market Archetype of CBT. Will lead and manage the team of Marketers across CBT Asia, CBT RUMEA and CBT CLAC and be a partner to the VP CBT and BU Leaders within this. Success will be defined by the delivery of customer outcomes that drive the commercial growth for CBT. 2) Responsible for the overall marketing strategy and deliverables to accelerate growth across the China Market, including taking on a leadership role with strategic partners. To lead the China Marketing Team to deliver customer, brand and commercial growth for PayPal in China.

CBT MARKETING

  • Partner with BU VP for CBT Marketing Archetype to help shape strategy for CBT growth, to develop scalable programs across a diverse set of countries and to nurture the rising stars of the future
  • Partner with the BU and Finance and Analytics to define the customer metrics by which CBT Market Archetype will define future success
  • Partner with the Consumer and Merchant segment leads to develop and execute common marketing programs across all stages of the customer funnel. Help define how we achieve localization in a scalable way for the CBT Market Archetype
  • Deliver NNA and Customer Engagement targets for the CBT Cluster of Markets
  • Lead CBT Marketing Team and determine resource allocation model across CBT Asia, CBT CLAC and CBT RUMEA
  • Manage, mentor and inspire the CBT Marketing Team to achieve their goals, to contribute to the business and to develop, learn and grow while they build a successful marketing career at PayPal
  • Play a leadership role within the International Marketing Team. Contribute to building a high-performance marketing team renown for accountability, executional excellence, business impact and teamwork

CHINA MARKETING

  • Lead the development of the China Marketing Strategic Plan for the consumer and merchant business units to align investment and allocation of resources with the best opportunities for growth
  • Responsible for growth of marketing led programs across all distribution channels including owned, earned, paid channels as well as via 3rd party strategic partnerships.
  • Responsible for overall leadership and execution of marketing programs for China
  • Partner with Strategy team and BU to launch and deliver strategic partnerships with leading China companies
  • Partner with the Regional CRM Team to deliver localized Lifecycle Marketing Initiatives to engage, grow and retain customers
  • Lead the development of Customer Acquisition strategies across owned, earned and paid channels
  • Manage a roster of Agencies to deliver outstanding brand work for the China Market that delights, engages and wins the hearts and minds of our customers while delivering on commercial targets
  • Support the Merchant Services team to deliver on sales targets through Trade Marketing, Merchant Partnerships and Thought Leadership to inspire and engage prospective customers
  • Drive a customer led, insights focus with the marketing team to intelligently use data and research to drive insight led decision making
  • Lead the development of localized Product Marketing Strategies in partnership with Global Product Marketing and provide a compelling story around the opportunities and needs of Chinese customers to influence the global product development roadmap
  • Effectively build co-dependent partnerships with the regional marketing team and play a thought leadership role in driving marketing best practice with the regional and global marketing communities
  • Drive a leadership role on the China Executive Team in setting the strategic direction and priorities of the China business while providing strong figurehead leadership qualities across the broader business
  • Review and interpret local, national and global competitor activities and behaviour for trends and potential ideas/application to PayPal
  • Delivers organizational objectives through driving co-operation and success from people across different areas of the organization.
  • Drives connectivity, leverages senior relationships across PayPal for the benefit of China’s objectives
  • Partner with Strategy and Business development teams to drive new opportunities for the business.
