Reporting to the Head of Talent Development, the Business Unit (BU) Talent Partner work closely with HR Business Partners and leadership teams to help drive key business outcomes and build talent capability for PayPal and their specific Business Unit. The BU Talent Partner builds upon existing initiatives and develops new PayPal wide and Business Unit specific talent development initiatives that help drive a high-performance, high-growth mindset with focus on career development and individual growth.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate strong partnerships with HR Business Partner(s) and business leaders through a strong understanding of business issues, business strategy, and a deep understanding of how those translate into the overall HR strategy.
  • Partner with the broader Learning & Talent Development team to drive a PayPal wide view of talent and talent enablement.
  • Lead discussions with HRBP’s and business leaders about emerging skill and capability needs and develop solutions that drive the evolution of the workforce.
  • Identify appropriate metrics and tracking mechanisms to drive accountability, measure results, and scale the impact of talent management initiatives.
  • Partner with embedded talent partners in the business to ensure local talent programs align with the PayPal Talent roadmap and strategy and bring subject matter expertise to help ensure the success of the programs.

Skills and Qualifications:      

  • A deep business acumen and experience building and growing a global business through the ongoing development of its people.
  • Team oriented consensus builder who understands how to achieve buy-in from diverse constituencies, building bridges and designing “win-win” solutions across a matrix management organization.
  • Analytical and critical thinking with a metrics-driven approach to solutions and the ability to leverage analytics and insights to create compelling narratives for change to gain sponsorship.  
  • The ability to root-cause issues, match people strategies to business strategies, and deliver global programs that drive results.
  • The ability to synthesize complex situations into a digestible format for the business leaders and their teams.
  • The ability to flourish in a rapidly changing organization and operate comfortably with ambiguity and complexity.
  • Experience in a high-profile role with heavy executive-level interface and a high degree of executive influence.
  • Significant depth in OD, Talent, Learning, Facilitation, as well as program design and delivery.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, plus 12 or more years of practical experience is typically required to be successful in this role.
