You will champion strategic development and go to market of new product innovations and how we activate them to humanize PayPal’s impact on culture and economic inclusion. Looking for an Art Director with a focus on creating, maintaining, and evolving the visual systems that define our brand in the product. This includes icons, emoji illustration, motion, photography, and live action creative. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented art director with a concept/story-driven approach who understands how form influences function, and who is constantly striving for simplicity. They are an expert in their craft, with a strong graphic design background, the ability to inspire and empower artists on a team to create their best work. Work should demonstrate dedication to excellence in a variety of digital media (mobile, web) and show their ability to create quality work in a fast-paced environment. Lastly, they should have the ability to adapt to various creative styles and know how to work in product.

Responsibilities 

As a part of the Performance Marketing Team, you will be dedicated to bringing to life our brand pillars, maintaining multi-year partnerships, and stewarding innovation programs to support evergreen products, key launches and global campaigns – connecting our beloved Merchants with each other and end-to-end to the consumer audiences.

  • Create storyboards necessary to guide development of product experiences
  • Oversee and guide work from communication designers and various creatives (internally and externally) and contribute to design work where applicable
  • Works in collaboration with product teams to absorb knowledge, define opportunities, and develop concepts and treatments to bring ideas to life
  • Works closely with the Product Designers and Content Strategists to implement a cohesive visual style, thinking about each project holistically and how it fits in the entire FB App ecosystem
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex, sometimes abstract, concepts clearly and persuasively
  • Delivers content that’s delightful, beautiful, and clear and with a high level of finish and polish
  • Seek out creative opportunities to improve on existing style and approach

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years experience as Art Director at a creative agency or an in-house team
  • Experience in art directing photography/video
  • A link to an online portfolio showcasing work
  • Experience coordinating, directing, and guiding the work of other designers
  • Experience taking feedback and incorporating it
  • Knowledge of photography/video principles related to branding, publishing with knowledge of digital product design
  • Experience building visual systems
  • Experience with visual storytelling photography/video
