About the role: Looking for hands on technical manager with great passion in solving complex database engineering problems, scaling Oracle and NoSql databases to internet of things, and maintain high availability goals in 24/7 environment.  Leading the dynamic team of database engineers across multiple locations in US and India. Defining and driving strategy for database availability, scalability, manageability, and agility. Partnering with peers in product development and other operational teams to enable business and deliver projects. Working with vendors to manage support SLA’s and influence vendor product roadmap. Provide leadership and guidance in technical meetings, define standards and assist/provide status updates. Work with cross functional operations teams such as systems, storage and network to design database technology stacks Working knowledge of networking, systems and storage as it relates to database technology Strong experience in desigining highly available and scalable Oracle database solutions. Expert in Oracle database technologies and strong familiarity with MySql and NoSql databases like Aerospike, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Couchbase  Requirements: Expert in database products, lifecycle management, agile methodologies, and database architecture Drives architecture discussions, proposes solutions to data structure/database architecture changes that are directly related to their area of focus. Proactively finds the potential database issues and takes initiative to address them in a timely fashion. Explores the automation opportunities for repeatable tasks and recommend/implement the solutions in collaboration with the appropriate teams. Organizational awareness to effect results by influencing partners through appropriate formal and informal channels. Drives vendors on strategic enhancements and influence their product roadmap Ties business and financial decisions to daily execution. Provide leadership with composure and clarity during crisis management Influences, motivates and coaches the team and other peers to perform at their greatest potential. Basic Qualifications: 10 + years of experience with Oracle technologies and 3 + years people management experience
