This position will focus on implementing data management practices within GoPay China-inclusive of documenting all business data, definitions, usage, lineage and controls. A strong understanding of data analysis and management techniques is required to ensure all data is documented and traceable throughout the critical processes.

We are helping rethink how we use data at PayPal to fulfill the needs of our customers (both internal and external). We drive creation of delightful, frictionless and complaint payment experiences while maximizing the value of our data. In this role you will get an opportunity to support the deployment of the Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) program. As Data Systems Analyst, EDG you will have the opportunity to support the Global Head of Data Governance in defining and executing a multi-faceted data management program, inclusive of data governance, data quality, metadata, master data, data architecture workstreams and in coordination with our privacy and security organizations. This position will require a significant amount of collaboration across all business areas within PayPal Core and its adjacencies.

Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering, with specific focus on business data analysis             

Ability to understand and trace data from end-to-end, with specific skills in generating/reviewing source-to-target mappings.

Ability to identify, understand, articulate and document business requirements

Ability to work with business to standardize and formalize BRDs

Identify and develop solutions to business needs

Ability to understand business and system impacts and recommend appropriate solutions

Ability to assist business/PM to identify enterprise data requirements

Systems Analysis          

Ability to perform source system analysis to determine enterprise data impacts

Ability to identify and perform downstream, usage and impact analysis

Ability to perform data analysis

Ability to read/understand Entity Relationship and logical data models

Able to establish and build lasting relationship with Business/PD stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of enterprise data experience-understanding of data creation and consumption across the enterprise
  • Experience with hands-on data source to target mapping required
  • Strong MS Office skills required
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to work across multiple organizations to accomplish diverse goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate across diverse groups within PayPal
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Shows initiative and exhibits a “can-do” attitude
  • Able to see the “big picture”-the end-to-end connection points associated with data and systems
  • Evangelize enterprise data capabilities to appropriate communities
  • Display good verbal, written and presentation skills

Education:

BA degree in Systems Analysis and/or Engineering or related field
