Job Description

Fueled by a fundamental belief that having access to financial services creates opportunity, PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) is committed to democratizing financial services and empowering people and businesses to join and thrive in the global economy. Our open digital payments platform gives PayPal’s 375 million active account holders the confidence to connect and transact in new and powerful ways, whether they are online, on a mobile device, in an app, or in person. Through a combination of technological innovation and strategic partnerships, PayPal creates better ways to manage and move money, and offers choice and flexibility when sending payments, paying or getting paid. Available in more than 200 markets around the world, the PayPal platform, including Braintree, Venmo and Xoom enables consumers and merchants to receive money in more than 100 currencies, withdraw funds in 56 currencies and hold balances in their PayPal accounts in 25 currencies.

Ever wondered what happens after a transaction? While most online purchases go through without issues, sometimes they do not. Whether the seller sent the wrong item, the order was never delivered, or worse case, the purchase was fraudulent, what happens next has as significant an impact as the initial transaction itself. Sometimes even more. And this is where Risk Management becomes a critical part of the overall purchase experience. From anticipating what could possibly go wrong, to evaluating the complexities and potential impact that arise after a transaction, the Risk Manager’s role is critical in setting the policies and creating the best possible outcomes for such incidents, while minimizing the impact to the customer, the merchant, and PayPal.

This role is in the Global Resolutions and Protections (RnP) team within Risk Management.  RnP is a global team responsible for managing the resolution experience and related risk when a disputes arises with a PayPal payment.

As part of our team, you will play a critical role in developing strategies and deploying programs to deliver the ideal resolution experience to our customers using the most cost-effective and sustainable model.  Combining data-driven insights with business knowledge, you will design RnP programs to optimize and improve the customer experience, and partnering closely with regional business units, operations, and product management teams to develop and implement them globally.

You will have the opportunity - and challenge - to constantly improve and adapt solutions to the fast-changing face of online commerce, analyze information and exercise solid judgement to bring it all together, and make a tangible difference in PayPal’s business results.  While the end objectives will be clear, the path to achieve it will challenge you to constantly innovate.

If your skill sets match the role, you can be assured of a fulfilling career with overwhelming opportunities to learn, grow and succeed in one of the fastest growing industries in the world.
