The employee will be responsible for providing analytical support for Global PayPal Customer Operations and WFM teams. Responsibilities will consist mainly of detailed analysis, design, and development of projects, processes, analytical models, and products specific to operational cost effectiveness and return on investment. The Analyst will work independently and in a team environment performing requirements gathering, data analysis, process mapping, test case definition, development, and collaboration across multiple business units and projects. The Analyst will further be responsible for other duties as assigned by their manager.


  • Support the analytic needs of Global Customer Operations and their Business Unit partners by creating reporting utilities for functional areas, analyzing results relative to plans and forecasts, and working with cross-functional teams to facilitate shared vision on solutions to business needs
  • Analyze and understand Global Customer Operations core business processes and data flows to design and develop enduring analytical solutions that provide analytical insights
  • Create and deliver solutions leveraging and extending existing Business Intelligence infrastructure enterprise solutions in mind
  • Work with development groups to ensure solutions are scalable, repeatable and effective
  • Improve and streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve accuracy, viability and value
  • Create SQL queries to troubleshoot, develop metrics and create ad-hoc reporting as needed; data systems competence is expected, specifically SQL and Teradata knowledge
  • Drive for shared understanding and facilitate conversations among key participants and stakeholders to understand their needs and defined outcomes
  • Assist internal customers with acceptance and adoption of implemented solutions
  • Prepare and deliver key strategic analysis, recommendations and findings to Operations Management, executive staff and key stakeholders; must have strong presentation and communication skills
  • Create and maintain requirements, specifications, and business processes documentation
  • Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner
  • Rapidly and effectively adapt to highly dynamic and aggressive work environment
  • Participate in special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in data analysis and reporting; strong mathematical skills required
  • Minimum of 2 years of general experience in one or more of the following areas: call center management, customer service and/or quality assurance
  • Experience manipulating large amounts of data for analytical projects and translating that data into sound business information
  • Experience with relational database concepts, querying, data warehouses and decision support tools
  • Experience across business intelligence spectrum: requirements gathering, BI tools, analytics, ETL and data warehousing
  • Related industry experience in call center environment a plus

  • Knowledge of external systems and software (Excel, Power Point, Visio, Tableau, SSRS)

  • Ability to develop visual presentations of information using SQL, Excel and other database tools, experience using statistical software or knowledge of various data mining and analytical tools (SSRS, Tableau, MicroStrategy) is a plus

  • Ability to understand the interdependency of technology and business process impacting the organization
  • Ability to make discretionary decisions based on research, with a certain degree of creativity and latitude required

  • Ability to drive and communicate Intelligence solutions and build shared vision for implementation across business groups and all levels of the business
  • Skill in focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, clarifying next steps, and prioritizing work effectively to meet deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to work independently to manage multiple projects and deadlines
