The Data Scientist reports into the credit risk Pay Later organization focusing on the customer lifecycle risk. The role consists of working with each risk strategies owner for a respective product in order to deliver a multi product risk strategy. This is a newly created function aiming at enhancing our risk capabilities beyond the single transaction view to a single customer view. The role will involve deriving analytical insights and strategy development alongside engaging with credit risk strategy owners, risk, product and business partners .

A successful applicant would be expected to:

Analyse

  • Uses customer level analytical insights to support strategic decisions
  • Develop new and existing reports to identify opportunities
  • Test and learn customer level risk strategies

Monitor

  • Performance of key customer level risk related metrics
  • Execution stability through control framework
  • For areas of improvement based on post monitoring reports
  • For engagement in issues resolution

Deliver

  • Newly build Customer Valuation models to enable a multi product risk management strategy. This includes but is not limited to : cross sell strategies, targeting strategies, alternative to decline options etc…
  • The risk initiatives roadmap related to graduation path (i.e. upgrade / cross-sell)
  • Customer experience along with product teams and other partners

Connect and Collaborate

  • With each risk strategy owner to ensure consistency of decision making, value maximization – that includes fraud and CRS teams.
  • With working groups coordinating on projects
  • With governance team for policy approval and test queries
  • With fraud team to ensure good coordination of risk/fraud strategies and leverages/shares best practices
  • With decision systems team to ensure smooth execution, address arising issues
  • proactively and is transparent with delivery partners across the PP ecosystem including risk platform, GDS, Compliance, Lux bank etc…

Job Requirements;

What  skills and experience are required for this position – (Functional, Technical & Behavioral) please refer to Success Factors if required

  • Proven credit and fraud risk management experience, along with knowledge of credit performance, data providers, credit and behavioural scoring and the credit industry.
  • 2-5 years experience in credit, Fraud risk management and/or underwriting in consumer credit products (e.g. Credit cards, instalment loans or other revolving credit products). Other relevant analytical experience will be considered.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills a must including the ability to explain / present technical business flows and complex data insights
  • Experience with credit bureaus and other sources of consumer credit data

  • Bachelors or masters degree in a related field
  • Experience with analytics and data mining tools, such as SQL, SAS, SPSS, KnowledgeSeeker, Python

  • Must have good judgment with the demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Fluent in English
