The Data Center Supervisor is a key member of the Operations staff with responsibility for providing support and supervision of the data center and all onsite support teams based upon guidance from the Data Center Manager. Additionally, the position is required to assist the Data Center Manager in developing and driving innovation, efficiency and cost-effective business practices and ensure high availability to the business. As a member of a world-class operations team the Data Center Supervisor is responsible for interfacing primarily with the Information Technology, Critical Facilities and Security teams on day-to-day operations. This position will also be required to participate in an on-call rotation and be expected to be available 24x7 as necessary by the business.

Job Requirements:

  • Manage service requests through multiple ticketing systems and ensure all teams are meeting SLA’s.
  • Coordinate with Facilities and Information Technology teams on work related activities pertaining to raised-floor operations.
  • Act as a point of contact between business units and data center staff to support business projects and escalation requests.
  • Support internal business units in strategy, scope, timeline, planning and executing on business projects.
  • Primary ownership in Data Center Resource Management. This includes maintaining a clear report of physical space, power availability and additional requirements of the critical site which is reported on a scheduled basis.
  • Assist as necessary in supporting the Critical Facilities and Security teams and adhere to standards of quality.
  • Coordinate with the Critical Facilities team and contractors to scope, support and complete various data center changes including new power additions to raised-floor design.
  • Coordinate with Data Center Engineering team to ensure all new builds, and retrofits meet current standards, and maintain accurate AutoCAD drawings.

Basic Qualifications:

5+ years of related experience in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of inventory management and control… Aspects to include: receiving of equipment, asset tagging and organization methods.
  • Prior supervision of IT project based teams a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented and a team player!
  • Should have experience installing large-scale data center equipment: network devices, security devices, web/application/database servers, console and KVM related devices.
  • Experience with cabling (fiber, copper, power, coax and serial).
  • Intermediate computer skills required.
  • Must be able to multi-task and change priorities on a moment’s notice.
  • Some weekends and night work required.
  • Will be part of an on-call rotation for emergency response and duties.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office a must, Visio and AutoCAD a plus.
  • Must have experience working in a raised-floor environment.
  • Candidate needs to learn quickly and adapt to change.  Must be able to follow documented processes.
  • May require working on a ladder.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs individually and 200 lbs with a team of people.
  • Additional technical training is a plus.
