PayPal is currently recruiting a Credit Risk Governance Manager to be based in Luxembourg. The person will oversee credit policies and portfolio performance on the bank’s commercial/working capital lending activities to small- and medium-size businesses

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the bank’s subject matter expert on commercial/working capital lending credit risk management, governance, and control
  • Manage credit, collections, consumer and seller risk policy documents as well as policy change governance
  • Monitor policy execution and ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures
  • Perform oversight on the bank’s credit portfolio
  • Review credit and collections policy and procedure changes with global credit risk and governance teams and present them to bank management for their decision on whether to approve
  • Manage new product launch readiness projects from credit perspective as well as cross functionally across the Bank
  • Interact with global credit, finance, and collections teams to monitor roll rate and loss forecasting and reserving process
  • Interact with the regulatory reporting team to oversee the forbearance and non-performing exposure reporting to CSSF
  • Interact with the global credit, finance, and collections teams to monitor roll rate and loss forecasting and reserving process based on IFRS 9 accounting methodology
  • Interact with global credit finance and accounting teams to monitor financial results, and understand the drivers of the financial performance any variance to the budget
  • Interact with global credit collections team to monitor and provide feedback in the development and execution of collection policies and understand the drivers of the collections performance
  • Interact with global credit control and operations teams to become aware of any operational issues as they arise and inform the bank management on root causes, remediation plans, financial impact, and preventive actions
  • Interact with global credit compliance and legal teams to confirm that the credit policies are compliant with applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Develop and deliver presentations on credit strategy proposals and results to management
  • Participate in credit audits and inspections to provide support to internal and external auditors and regulators as needed

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field
  • Relevant years of professional experience in credit risk management and underwriting in commercial/small- and medium-size business credit products
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills a must
  • Banking regulatory background in US and EU preferred
