The Corporate Communications team at PayPal is responsible for sharing the company’s compelling story and strong business performance to key stakeholder groups including business and trade media, influencers, industry analysts, investors, and customers. We partner closely with diverse internal teams such as Public Relations, Investor Relations, Legal, Business Strategy, and Finance to build programs that communicate our vision, explain our strategy and enhance our corporate reputation. We are looking for a Corporate Communications and Analyst Relations Specialist who can drive and evolve our industry analyst program; help us pull and integrate key internal and third-party data points into our corporate story; and manage our corporate awards program. We need a storyteller and a data cruncher. We need someone who can turn a number into a narrative, and someone who can thread regional data points into a global story. We need someone who inherently understands the strategic value of analyst relations and has successfully advocated that value to executives and other leaders. We need a creative thinker, strong writer, experienced collaborator, and flawless executor who will bring their capabilities, positive energy, and sense of humor to our growing team. Equal parts strategy and executional excellence, this role calls for someone who can manage multiple programs simultaneously while also ensuring that every single element ladders up to larger corporate narratives and objectives. Exceptional relationships within the industry analyst community, and a natural understanding and love for metrics and data is a must. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications, this high-profile, high-opportunity position will have the chance to influence our product and technology narratives and create new touch points with key internal and external audiences.

  • Develop and implement effective communications strategies for engaging the industry analyst community on a wide-variety of topics.
  • Build a deep understanding of the company’s business strategies, product roadmap, growth metrics, and objectives in order to tie communications work directly to desired business outcomes.
  • Create effective, compelling, and insightful materials that drive the company’s technology and product narrative within the analyst community —including announcements, videos, speeches, product demonstrations, and presentations.
  • Develop messaging documents for executive analyst briefings and interviews.
  • Bring analyst reports, data, and briefings to the communications team to help shape and support the PayPal narrative.
  • Enrich and oversee the processes for using PayPal data within the company’s internal and external communications materials, leveraging industry-leading data governance processes.
  • Manage a corporate awards program, ensuring that the appropriate teams are engaged, working on content, driving deadlines, and communicating results. We have the right teams in place, we need a quarterback to help drive us down the field.

  • 4-7 years of communications experience with at least three years supporting an industry analyst relations program.
  • Strong existing relationships with the industry analyst community.
  • Deep technology knowledge and the ability to break down and explain complicated concepts and products to a variety of audiences. FinTech experience desired but not required.
  • Strong writing, editing, story-telling and verbal communication skills. Ability to adapt to the unique tone and style of individual executives to deliver credible, authentic communications.
  • Experience in supporting best-in-class data governance and disclosure processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to create high-quality work, delivering results calmly and with good judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – this position interacts with multiple departments and functions throughout PayPal. The ideal candidate drives effective, positive communications with these groups and handles challenges with diplomacy, tact, and careful thought.
  • Strategic and creative thinker with flawless attention to detail.
  • Project management expertise.
  • Someone with a passion for the PayPal brand and committed to our vision of democratizing the movement and management of money.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Master’s degrees welcomed but not required.
  • Position to be based in San Jose.
