In this position, you will play a major role in providing Global Financial Crimes (GFC) policy advisory, guidance, and direction to business units, operational support areas, and product areas that are critical to the effectiveness of PayPal’s world-class, GFC compliance program.

Job Description:

In this position, you will play a major role in providing Global Financial Crimes (GFC) policy advisory, guidance, and direction to business units, operational support areas, and product areas that are critical to the effectiveness of PayPal’s world-class, GFC compliance program. You will be instrumental in preventing the exploitation of PayPal’s services for illicit purposes and ensuring compliance with complex financial industry legal requirements in areas such as Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), counter terrorist financing (CTF), financial intelligence, and suspicious activity reporting (SAR).

You will draw on your compliance experience to help ensure adherence with PayPal policies, as well as global compliance expectations throughout PayPal’s footprint. In this role you will responsible for meeting with business, technology, and compliance professionals, and for utilizing your exceptional communication and organizational skills, to support and execute PayPal’s objectives in financial crime detection and prevention. This role is also responsible for providing GFC advisory to business and product areas, and for assisting with integration of new ventures, products, and opportunities.

You will work in close collaboration with multiple areas of the company across PayPal’s global footprint. This role will report into a Manager, GFC Advisory, and requires a candidate that can work well as a team to support our business areas. You will be engaged in:

  • Evaluating new and modified products and services, and engaging appropriate subject matter experts, to identify GFC risks and appropriate controls
  • Collaborating on GFC projects and initiatives, completing assignments timely with impeccable quality
  • Developing clear and appropriately succinct summaries, reports, and governance updates both verbally and in writing
  • Reviewing and updating policies, procedures, and other governance documentation
  • Providing guidance to partners in risk and compliance, business, product, and operational support areas
  • Staying apprised of GFC regulatory changes globally to assist in determining impact and driving program changes

Experience:

  • Three to five years in AML/BSA/GFC
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Substantive knowledge of legal, policy, and/or operational aspects of GFC compliance programs (e.g., AML/CTF, customer due diligence, SAR, sanctions, and/or financial crime investigations)

  • Effectively collaborate within a fast-paced environment, including a capacity for building consensus in the face of divergent interests or viewpoints

  • Ability to learn quickly, drive multiple projects simultaneously with sound judgment, flexibility, and nimbleness in changing courses and solving problems swiftly
  • Operate with strong integrity with the ability to handle projects of a sensitive and confidential nature
  • 5-10% travel
