The PayPal Communications team is seeking a highly engaged and dynamic Communications Specialist for PayPal in Germany. The specialist will report to the Head of Communications, DEATCH and will provide Communications support to PayPal’s business in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

  • Help execute integrated communications and PR strategies and tactical plans in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
  • Help run PR projects and campaigns across the region. Assist in supporting PR agencies to provide effective coordination and clear guidance to the team by ensuring plans, processes, reviews, and evaluation are in place.
  • Build and maintain relationships for PayPal, with key consumer and trade media, influencers, and bloggers.
  • Support day-to-day media inquiries.
  • Help managing PayPal’s corporate blog by creating editorial plans, reviewing, and managing content.
  • Support Head of Communications (DEATCH), who acts as Communications Business Partner to Country Managers in respective markets, providing briefings and counsel on media-related topics and communications issues, as appropriate to enhance PayPal reputation as an industry leader and respected organization.

Job Requirements:

  • A degree in Journalism or Communications or equivalent required.
  • First prior relevant experience.
  • High level of professionalism and emotional intelligence; handles sensitive/confidential information with appropriate care.
  • Excellent written, communication, research, and presentation skills.
  • Thrives in a global, fast-paced, and dynamic work environment. Ability to manage high job complexity and constant multi-tasking. Well organized, able to prioritize well, work efficiently. Shows flexibility as workloads fluctuate.
  • A genuine interest and ability to connect with, build and maintain relationships with people at all levels and across organizational and geographic boundaries.
  • An ownership mentality – sees tasks through to completion. Goes the extra step to proactively seek out answers to problems that may fall outside his/her area of expertise. 
  • Eager to learn new things and apply knowledge to innovate, improve/simplify processes. 
  • Fluent German speaker and very good knowledge of English language.
